Loving brother to Diane Gray (Gib), Alice Montgomery (John), Tom Cook (Trish), and brother-in-law Rodger Needham also his mother-in-law Jean Needham. During Ralph’s 76 years there were many hard fought against-all-odds health issues, triple-bi-pass, dialysis and the gift of life a liver transplant in 2013 that gave us many additional years together, for which there are no words for. We thank all the medical personnel over the years that have cared for Ralph.

March 17, 1944 – May 21, 2023

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother on Sunday May 21, 2023 at the age of 79 years.

Sharon “Pat” Parker was born in Toronto, Ontario and lived across the province while finally settling in Moncton, New Brunswick.  After she graduated high school and found herself eventually moving to Hamilton, Ontario.  She had 2 daughters, who were her life.  To say she was a devoted mother, is an understatement.  She lived for her girls. Then when her grandchildren came along, she was devoted to them.  She always dropped whatever she was doing to play whatever game her grandchildren wanted to play, or cook meatballs, make chocolate chip cookies, and eat ice cream for breakfast.  She adored her grandchildren and in turn, they adored her.

She also was the best friend to anyone who had the good fortune to be loved by her.  She has impacted every single person she has ever met.  Whether it be her best friend, or a random stranger, she had a gift for making people feel like they were the most important person in the world to her.  Sharon had lots of interests and hobbies, but she loved her garden.  She spent all her free time in her garden, attracting all kinds of attention from creatures to neighbours who were in awe of its beauty.  I’m not sure she realized that it was her beauty, inside and out, that made everyone she met, love her.

Loving mother of Tanya Schramek (Jean-Paul) and Vandra Bower (Derek). Cherished Grandmother of Parker, Avery, Lily, Grace and Nolan. Dear Sister of choice Ginny Meurs and Karen Veilleux.

She will be missed by many family , friends and colleagues.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 8, 2023 from 2 pm to 5 pm at 268 Dewdrop Crescent, Waterloo, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237.   Please visit Sharon's obituary notice on Facebook.

Ralph was born in Toronto where he was on his high school swim team and earned certification for life saving.  He worked at Eddie Black’s Camera Stores while pursuing an interest in photography.  This job paid for his education at the University of Toronto. He was later hired by the University of Waterloo as a photographic specialist.  He left the University to become a wood stove installer and chimney sweep. He was mechanically inclined and performed his own car repairs while driving for City Cab.  Driving his own taxi was Ralph’s dream job.  He loved talking to people and drinking his large double/double coffee throughout the day.  He sold his cab and licence just before Uber arrived, and retired.
