It is hard to some up in a few words what Wilf meant to our family.

My earliest memories of Wilf had to be before I was even in school. He would make the annual trip up to OS for the Georgian Cup races, usually with his Polaris in tow. I can still remember him taking me for a rides on his Polaris. I thought his blue windshield was super cool!

Other early memories were of going to Oswego; having Linda, Reid and Kim along at either a car race, or visits at either family's home. Whenever we were around Wilf, the thing that sticks out in my mind the most was his hearty laugh, his eagerness to hear a good story, and his pride in his family and value in having good friends.

When he learned of my interest in VW's; he took the time to mail me a letter one Christmas with an article he found in the KW paper on a bug; with a hand written note of encouragement. It reads: "Buy the Bug Jeff, We'll travel! Wilf". Later we kept in touch with all things related to vintage sleds; sharing thoughts either through visits, phone conversations, or emails. When Kimberly became a teacher; he even became interested in the field of Education, or administration. Who would have thought? It was never heard to strike up a conversation on anything with Wilf.

When my own father was sick in hospital a number of years ago, it was a stressful time for our family. Wilf took a week out of his own time to stay in OS, and lend his support. I fondly remember hearing the old stories of when all the boys were growing up, the adventures they would all get up to, their cars, the sled stories and learning more about my Uncle Bruce.

We'll all miss being around Wilf, hearing that hearty laugh, and sharing a good time. However I look forward to seeing members of his family soon, and offer them all the support in this difficult time. I will of course fondly remember him and the times we shared whenever I am either at a race, or see a vintage Polaris at a show.

God bless Wilf, and his family.

Rest Peacefully Wilf.

I met Wilf about 17 years ago at a coffee shop in Elmira when I was off work getting over a broken ankle. We seemed to get along well and talked about everything from sleds to politics. That coffee shop friendship carried on and I enjoyed the conversations and laughs we had over the years. I have missed those meetings in the last several months due to my work and Wilf's failing health. Wilf was a real gentleman and a genuine friend and I will miss those encounters immensely.

My condolences to the McNabb family

Linda, Reid and Kim, our deepest condolences in the passing of Wilf. We sure had some great times going to the races together. Wilf always had a smile. He certainly will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him and enjoy his company.
