Passed away peacefully at People Care, AR Goudie Care Home on Wednesday October 21, 2020 at the age of 79 years.
Anastasia was a free spirit and always looked her best, no matter how long it took her!
Ann's work and hobbies were one in the same. She felt a great sense of peace from her Amethyst and made beautiful creations which she loved to share with others. Much of her Amethyst pieces were sold all around Ontario throughout the years. Ann was a breast cancer survivor, as she was a fighter and had a strong faith. She was a member of Rock Chapel for over 35 years, and helped many along the way. Ann was a proud "Oma" and loved her grandbabies more than words could say, her "Princess" Anastasia and her "Chicken Chunks" Quinn.
Ann was a caring mother and will be lovingly remembered by her son Richard Allen, and cherished by her daughter Debra and husband Wayne Haggerty. Oma will also be remembered with love by grandson Quinn Schwetz and grand daughter Anastasia Schwetz.
Ann was born in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Elizabeth (Gloglowski) & George Oakes. She belonged to our group of seven. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Mary(Heinz) Zellman, Betty Carey (Nello) and Kathy (Bart) Fulcher, and her brothers Tom (Carol) Oakes, and Bud (Mary) Oakes. Predeceased by one sister Francie (and Lloyd) Friess.
Aunt Ann will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held for Ann at a later date, (when it is safer).
