Remembering her lively Finnish blue eyes. We will miss her special smile and trusting ways.
Fondly remembered for her artistic flare and elegance in her home and gardens; and her profound tenacity and work ethic. She found contentment and peacefulness in her gardens and under the open sky.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Ray and her loyal dog Amy. Joyce and Ray were to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary May 2016. Leaving behind her children: James, Kathryn and Robert and her daughters-in-law Gudrun and Tanya and son-in-law Aaron. Grandchildren: Katrina, Zachary, Savita, Isaac, Sasha, Katelyn, Nisha and Liam.

A private family memorial and cremation has occurred as per her wishes.

Friends can support her memory via The Grand River Cancer Centre.

October 12, 1967 - February 28, 2016

After a lengthy illness battling cancer, Michelle (Zoe) passed away  peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener.

She was pre-deceased by her mother Agnes (Caza, 1984) and her late husband, Todd Jeffery (2006). Michelle is survived by her very dear son Daniel Jeffery (age 17), her father Lawrence Zahara and step-mother Anne Marie, her brothers Paul (Pauline) of Sydney, Australia, Allan (Paula) of Verona, Ontario, sister Adele of Fergus, Ontario; niece Jennifer, nephews Jeremy, Chris, Tim and Matt, sister-in-law Cindy McGolderick and many caring friends.

Michelle graduated from french language high school Etienne Brule  in Toronto and was accredited in Human Resources Management from Ryerson University. Her career began as a legal assistant, having also designed and taught evening courses on the subject. She moved into Human Resources and worked as a bilingual manager; a career that she loved. Michelle had a generous heart and volunteered time and energy to several causes, often with her son Daniel. She also shared her love  of theatre with Daniel and they acted and volunteered with several community theater groups over the years. Travel was another interest enthusiastically shared with Daniel, especially to Mexico and sunny, warm locales. She could play a mean game of scrabble, outwitting many an unsuspecting opponent, and had an intelligent sense of humour.

Our family sincerely thanks her medical and palliative care teams and the abundant and caring help she received from so many kind friends and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be planned in the coming weeks.
