Very peacefully on Friday Feb 10th in her 99th year, with family at her side.

Devoted wife and soul mate of the late Geoffrey Charles Lund. Loving mother of Jennifer (Martin) Stillman, Christine (Kevin) Champion, and Jonathan (Eva) Lund.  Very proud grandmother of Katie, Sarah, Jackie, Andrew, David, Spencer and Alexis.  Great-grandmother to Nathan, Liam and Noah.  Guardian to Alison (Larry) Hirst, and Nana to Anna and Adam.

Nora was born in Hull, England, the second oldest of four siblings. On graduation she joined the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Nursing Service during WWII.  Having served aboard a ship assisting the evacuation of POW's from Singapore, and in France with a Scottish Infantry Unit, she was posted to Secunderbad, India where she met Geoff.  They were married on return to England, and the next years were devoted to raising a family and making a warm, happy and welcoming home.

Nora restarted her nursing career when the children were older and became a nursing sister running a Geriatric Hospital in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. Upon retirement Nora and Geoff emigrated to Canada to join family where they lived in London, Southampton and finally Cambridge.

Nora and Geoff loved to travel, especially longer sea voyages, and at various times and in segments sailed around the world twice. Nora was a strong, quiet, gracious and loving lady. She had a way of making everyone feel special and her smile warmed everyone. Nora led a long and full life surrounded by family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who knew her.

Special thanks to the staff at Sterling Heights Nursing Home in Cambridge where Nora spent her last years. Their love, care and kindness will never be forgotten.

A family celebration of Nora’s life will be held at a later date.

If desired, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Canada.
