Missed by son Mark Vondrau of Preston, Cambridge, brothers Clarence (Ronita), Jim (Maggie) and Larry (Judy) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Howard Vondrau (1980), parents Ethel and George Hennessey and brother Fred.

Born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on December 23, 1925, Margaret moved to Ontario in the 1940’s for the war effort.

A generous soul, she helped strangers and family alike, always thinking of others before herself. She loved animals, especially dogs, who were always in her company.  She also loved her many flower beds, gardens and lilac trees in her large yard.

In the 1980’s she drove “down east” every year for a few months in her mini motor home. In the 1990’s and early 2000’s she took bus day trips across the border for shopping. She had sharp intellect and wit and was well-informed on most topics.

As per Margaret’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the KW or Cambridge Humane Societies would be appreciated by her family.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
