Donna Lanza (nee Frayne) passed away peacefully on June 23, 2016 at the Grand River Freeport Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario after a short illness due to cancer. She leaves behind Bob, the love of her life, her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.

Donna was born and raised in Hamilton. Over the 52 years of marriage to Bob, she took charge of setting up new family homes, schooling arrangements, family social life, extracurricular activities for children, etc., in Hamilton, Halifax, Saskatoon and Kitchener.

She was a wise, compassionate and generous woman who always offered help to the less fortunate and needy. Donna was the go-to person when family and friends sought advice on what to do at difficult times. She was forthright and never candy-coated the solution to a problem. She told it the way it was; if you did not want the truth, you best not ask Donna.
This exceptional woman will be missed by all those that she touched.

A celebration of life will be held at the Deer Ridge Golf Club on Sunday July 3, 2016 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Family and friends are welcome to join in.

January 26, 1940 – June 21, 2016

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Pat at her Waterloo home, with her loving husband of 52 years, James, by her side, on June 21, 2016, at the age of 76.

She is pre-deceased by her father Joseph, her mother Mary and brother Joe.  Beloved mother of James and Kimberley, Mark and Tammy of Waterloo.  Devoted Grandmother to Aaron, Connor, Evan and Meaghan.  Pat will be sadly missed by her brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews and a great network of friends.

In her working life Pat was a dedicated employee having worked for several banking institutions.  She had many and varied interests outside of work; a talented seamstress and crafter. Her work has travelled the globe finding homes in the four corners of the earth.  She devoted many hours to making lap quilts for children at the Grand River Cancer Centre.  In her life in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, she enjoyed many camping trips with family and friends, sharing laughs and campfire songs.

Pat’s dedication to a life in the service of others was closest to her heart.  She volunteered innumerable hours, freely giving of herself to help anyone in need; from simply being an ear to listen, or a shoulder to cry on, her loving, caring heart knew no limits. She had the most room in her incredible heart for her grandchildren, spending countless hours at swimming pools, hockey rinks, baseball diamonds and curling rinks cheering them on to victory and putting band-aids on bruised knees and broken hearts.

Cremation has taken place.  At Pat’s request there will be no formal service.  A celebration of her life will take place from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 145 Dearborn Place, Waterloo, ON.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Mary’s Cardiac Rehab Centre, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

You left us too soon.  Goodbyes are not forever.  Goodbyes are not the the end.  They simply mean we’ll miss you till we meet again.
