Beloved daughter of Marianne Hojvang and the late Ebbe Hojvang, sister of Helen Hojvang and the late Brian Hojvang, admired aunt and dear friend.

The world has lost a beautiful soul, an artistic spirit, a gifted gardener, and an unwaveringly independent lady. Donations may be made to Innisfree House (519) 208-5055.

Velma Jane Parks

Velma Jane Parks (nee Clemens) of Hespeler passed away peacefully with her children by her side at the age of 78 on August 15th, 2016. Predeceased by her parents Reid and Mary Clemens and baby sister to Glen (late Kay), Isobel (late Murray) and the late Lloyd, (late Margaret) Eddie (Doris) Clemens. Devoted Mother to Peter Parks (Laura), Jayne Weber (Laurent), Sandy Gibson (Kenny) Lisa Parks, and the late Scott Parks. Proud Grandmother to Joshua, Jaime Brayden, Cameron, Sabrina, Cody, Andrew and Great Grandmother to Ella and Brody. Caring aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
 
Velma overcame many challenges in her life and still managed to lovingly raise and support her five children with courage and strength. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends both locally and in the Cayman Islands. She loved keeping busy, had a flair for fashion and never passed up a good card game.
 
Funeral services to be held at Saint Luke’s United Church on Saturday 20th August, visitation from 12 pm – 2 with the funeral service to follow immediately after.
 
Her strength and determination have inspired many; she will be greatly missed.
 
Our family sends a heartfelt thank you to the ICU team at the Grand River Hospital who went above and beyond with care and compassion.

Ralph E. Tannahill

Ralph E. Tannahill passed away at Grand River Hospital – Freeport Campus Kitchener, Ontario on Wednesday August 10, 2016 in his 70th year. 

He is survived by his loving partner Linda Woloshyn and his treasured daughter Shannon and her husband Darryl Nodwell of London.  Cherished Papa of Liam Nodwell. Brother of Robert of St. Catharines.  Also fondly remembered by Shannon's mother, Pat Tannahill of London. Predeceased by his parents, Don and Anita and his sister Elizabeth. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Janet Maceachern, Nurse Susan Steckley and the Grand River Chemo Suites nursing staff for their wonderful care and compassion. 

An avid golfer, Ralph loved to travel and played many amazing courses.   He was retired from a long and successful career with Bell Canada. 

According to Ralph's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.  A celebration of life will take place at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre.  Arrangements entrusted to TRI-CITY CREMATION SERVICES, 1601 River Rd E. Kitchener, Ontario.

Robert Bansen

After a remarkable life lived and a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer Robert (Bob) Bansen, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Innisfree House Hospice while surrounded by his family. 

Predeceased by his parents Jane and Paul Bansen.  He is survived by his wife, Lesley; son, Grant (Trish) and daughter Tori (Joel); 6 grandchildren, Laura (Dan), Margaret, Emily, Teresa, Liam and Sam; and 2 great-grandsons, Terran and Rowan.  He will be missed but remembered fondly by his many friends.  His wisdom, authenticity, generosity and friendly smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Special thanks to Nurse Practitioner Colleen Elm, Dr. Brian Healy (aka Monty Python), Cambridge Memorial Medical Daycare and their Oncology Team, The CCAC Palliative Care Team and all of the staff and volunteers at the Innisfree House Hospice. 

Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Innisfree House Hospice.

Former employee of LINAMAR Inc., Reliance Electric, Hawker Siddeley Canada, Byron Jackson and G.E. Canada (Peterborough Division).
 
a daughter’s undeniable hero
a wife’s fierce protector, loving husband
a mother’s eldest son
a brother to 6 siblings
a demanding but fair employer
 
Was taken from us on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 6pm after several years of struggling with a myriad of health issues. As per Keith’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. The family will be arranging a celebration of Keith’s life where we would like (you) to share your remembrances with us (information to be provided at a later date).

Dawn Morris

Margaret Dawn Morris, passed away at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener on Saturday August 6, 2016, due to complications from M.S.

She is survived by her partner Barry Binkle, her mother June Morris of Stratford (predeceased by her father Don W. Morris), her brothers; Greg of Stratford and Brent of London and aunts, uncles and cousins. Also survived by mother-in-law Leona Binkle, brothers-in-law Charles (Sherri) and Tom, sisters-in-law; Beverly (Gary Swiech), Brenda (Brian Haskins), Heather (David Heeney) and Peggy (Markus Bussmann).
 
Dawn was a graduate of Fanshawe College and Wilfred Laurier University. She lived a happy life and cared deeply for family, friends and her dog.
 
Special thanks to her caregivers at Sunnyside Home and her Red Cross workers when she was at home.
 
A private committal service will be held at a later date.
