With sadness and in celebration of a wonderful life, we announce the peaceful death of Agnes Dever, 86, after a brief illness, on August 28, 2017, in the comfort of Lisaard House in Cambridge.

Champion and cheerleader of her children Michael, Mary (John), Marty (Ryan), and Kathryn (Michael). Treasured Grandma of Andrea and Sarah.

Devoted sister to Mary Geng and Frank Geng (Joyce), Agnes is now reunited with her parents, Nicholas and Veronica Geng, and her brothers Albert (Jane) and Norman (Carol). She's also remembered by her niece Lori Geng.

Agnes enjoyed her career, especially her roles at St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s hospitals.  Throughout her long life, Agnes modeled the importance of giving back to her community. She was a lifelong volunteer with special fondness for contributing to the Victoria School Centre and Downtown Community Centre until early 2017. Agnes loved live concerts, local theatre, day trips, and the challenge of the daily crossword.

We’ll honour her memory by keeping her compassion, kindness, and welcoming spirit alive. She had a wonderful ability to find common ground with everyone she met, and was always ready with a smile and a friendly word.

Thanks to the caring 5th Floor team at St. Mary’s Hospital, and heartfelt gratitude to the extraordinary staff and volunteers at Lisaard House. Agnes and her family appreciate each of you for your loving care.

As she wished, cremation, interment, and a small family memorial have taken place. To honour her memory and to help other families, please consider a donation to Lisaard House.

"See you later, alligator."

RCMP Staff Sergeant (Retired)

Tony passed suddenly on Monday, August 14 after leading a full and productive life.

Born in England in 1936, he witnessed first hand the bombing of England in WW2.  Emigrating to Canada at the age of 17, he joined the RCMP where he excelled, serving in Toronto, New Brunswick, the Eastern Arctic and Ottawa.  While serving, he won a spot on the Musical Ride, did high profile detective work and latterly honed his skills in forensics, a brand new field at the time.

Retiring at 52, he began a serial set of pursuits, first totally renovating the family home, then starting his own musical group, then conquering the game of golf, then on to becoming an avid cyclist, then becoming a skilled furniture maker adept at inlay, then rediscovering his love of horseback riding, photography and archery before finally trying his hand at artistic painting.

He will be greatly missed by Donna, his wife of 57 years, daughter Lynn Dee, (Scott) granddaughters Morgan and Willa and son Randy (Wendy).

There will be a celebration of life, Sunday, Aug 20 at 1:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 316 Marsland Drive, Waterloo.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington.

Friends and family are invited to attend his CELEBRATION OF LIFE on Sunday August 27th, 2017 at 2pm at the Shakespeare Optimist Hall.

Bruce was a New Year’s baby born on December 31st, 1953.  He grew up in North Easthope Township and enjoyed life on the family farm.  Agriculture was a lifelong passion and enjoyed that his work often included meeting with farmers and taking long drives through the countryside.

Bruce commented regularly on the awesome power of nature and wonders of God.  He was looking forward to being reunited with his parents William (Bill) and Emmalene (Em) Bell who predeceased him.

Bruce (Bruno) was the sixth of ten children and is survived by his siblings Dianne Currah (Larry), Donna LeSouder (Peter), Darlene Schmidt (Calvin), Joe Bell (Cathie), Brian Bell (Harla), John Bell (Connie), Pete Bell (Bev), Deb Bell (Paul) and Denise Bell.

Bruce’s custom license plates read “BLESSD7X”.  He enjoyed when border security personnel or any new acquaintance would ask about his plates and seven children.  Bruce was the cherished Dad to Shannon Bell Hurd (Jason), Jillian Roth (Jeremy), Chris Bell (Kait), Justin Bell, Jaimee Bell (Kevin), Madison Bell and Logan Bell.  He was a treasured Grandpa to nine grandchildren: Seegan, Evangeline, Wyatt, Jake, Owen, Easton, Danica, Locklynn and Lukas.

Bruce remained a dear friend to his former spouse and mother of his five youngest children, Sandy Dietrich-Bell.  He is also survived by his former spouse and mother of his two oldest children Sandra (Malcho) Bell.  He truly loved his large family including many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  Bruce was predeceased by his great-nephew Joey Erb and expressed that he was looking forward to seeing him again.

Bruce knew that life was for living and he wanted to squeeze every bit of living into whatever time he had left.  Like his Dad, he loved family, farming and baseball.  He was hoping to make a trip to PEI yet this summer to see his youngest son Logan play in the Canadian National Baseball Tournament representing Ontario.

Bruce loved gathering with friends and family and was looking forward to attending the September wedding of his niece Raeven Bell and Marcus Graham.  He will undoubtedly be there in spirit as well.

Bruce asked to have Memorial Donations directed to the Shakespeare & Community Athletic Association (S.C.A.A.) PO Box 272, Shakespeare, ON N0B 2P0.  He expressed how incredibly thankful he was for the care he received at the London Health Sciences Centre.
