NORM!!!  Norman Kohyu Nakanishi was born on September 12th, 1977 in Kitchener and passed away suddenly in his sleep on Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at the age of 42. We are shattered that someone who was so busy living life and making plans for his next adventure was taken so unexpectedly. Loving son of Susumu and Itsuyo Nakanishi, brother to Sayaka (Colin) and Yuri (Geoff) and uncle to Cameron, Nolan, and Violet.

Norm broke the mold when he was born. He was one of the good guys: he was compassionate, generous, crazy fun, and he would drop everything in a heartbeat to help anyone. He left a permanent mark on his family, friends, work colleagues at Brock Solutions and himself (literally-he tattooed the order number of his favourite beef noodle dish from a local Chinese restaurant on his arm in Chinese characters, just to see the reaction of those who could read it). Norm was a prankster. For Christmas, he would give his niece and nephews the best gifts. He would often hide funny random gifts such as canned cat food within the real gift or spend hours meticulously wrapping, e.g., a 5 ft tall giraffe that looked exactly like a giraffe (thank goodness his car had a sunroof).

Norm loved what he did and loved his family and friends immensely. Norm’s mind was like a Rolodex and when he talked about his friends, it always started with my “buddy”, or my “good buddy” or my “real good buddy”.  How wonderful is that?

Norm had an eclectic mix of hobbies. He enjoyed trying new things and always approached life with the simple philosophy of “don’t knock it until you tried it”. He loved travelling, hanging out with his friends, making new friends, searching for the perfect bowl of ramen (since 1990), interior camping, air-soft, building new gadgets, ballroom dancing, motorcycling, attending music festivals... Norm even attended a psychic dream seminar; he didn’t seem to take that much away from it, other than writing the name and address of a restaurant nearby. He wrote “great steaks and mushy peas”. He always found the positive in everything.

To our beloved son, brother/brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. We miss you terribly.

We will have a private family cremation and burial service. A celebration of life will be organized in the future. We would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive of Norm and our family, it means a lot to us.

Messages and condolences may be left at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit Norm's obituary notice on Facebook.

It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Patrick (Pat) Murphy on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Pat passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Nithview Nursing Home in New Hamburg, Ontario.

Pat spent the last year of his life at Nithview and he always commented on the excellent care they provided him with. The staff at Nithview really took a shining to Pat and almost always commented on how much they enjoyed their talks with him. He always had time for everyone, he always made a point of to at least say hello, and always asked how they were doing. Pat continued with his army modelling at the nursing home, everyone always commented on how authenticate and detailed his creations were.

His mind was still sharp and he a memory that went back for decades on the most detailed of events. If there were a hundred boxes in a room, he could tell you exactly what box to look in to find what he was looking for. He constantly spoke of all the great friends he had from past and present. If he didn’t have something good to say about someone, he wouldn’t say anything at all. The exception to that was we did occasionally hear him not agree with some doctor’s advice. So yes, he could be stubborn when it came to not always doing what they told him he should do.

Pat always had a love for animals and constantly talked about his and other people’s furry pets. He always had a story to tell about Stewart, Sam this and Pew that. To him pets were as much a part of family as the people were.

Pat was in his 80th year, born March 17th, 1941 in Owen Sound. He leaves behind daughter Sherri (Pete) Marshall, son David (Joanne Prince), sister Veronica (Jean), Jane McArthur, and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Frances Waller, Joanne (Nelson), brothers Terri and Leonard.

As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada or the Animal Shelter in Owen Sound.

June 10, 1953 - Aug 13, 2020 at the age of 67 in his home.

It is with great sadness that we announce dads passing as a result of a courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at home with lots of love and care from our family. During his battle he always found joy, laughter, and a great sense of humour. Loving remembered by us children Stacy-Rae Kieswetter (John), Zachary, and Riley, as well as his precious grandsons Avery Kieswetter, and Jax Dosman. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Mary, Brother Ronald Dosman (Mary), and Sister Carole Moore (Jim), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dog Zeppelin, our mother Colleen, and many friends.

Predeceased by his dad Raymond, sister Gail, brother Larry, and best friend of his dog Winston.

Dad enjoyed many nature activities, such as camping, fishing, biking, and gardening while having family enjoying them with him. He also had a love of his 55 Chevy Belair Ragtop, and going to many car shows with the KW 55, 56, and 57 Chevy Club.

At dad’s request he was cremated and wanted no celebration after his passing, as he would like family and friends to remember the good times family and friends have of him.

Our family would like to thank the Grand River Cancer Center, Care Partners, and Dr Yew for all their care. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. Please visit dad's obituary notice on Facebook.

Rest In Peace Dad, you deserve it.
