Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Gibson (née Hill)

Passed away peacefully on September 23rd at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 77.
 
Beloved wife of 56 years to Robert Ernest Gibson. Sadly missed by daughters Shari (Bert) Vezeau and Lisa (Tony) Brijeski. Fondly remembered by her siblings David Hill and Madeline (Bill) Evans. Betty was a cherished grandmother to Ellen (Scott), Laura, Megan, Michael, Brandon, Nicholas and Allison and great-grandmother to Bradley, Lillian, Evelyn and Mason. Predeceased by her parents George and Helen Hill.
 
Betty was a teacher with both Scarborough and Toronto School Boards.
 
As per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Gladys Ethel Hergott

Passed away suddenly at Victoria Place Retirement Living, Kitchener on Saturday September 23, 2017 at 97 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Elmer W. Hergott. Loving mother of Shirley-Ann and husband Doug Voisin. Cherished grandmother of Donna and Darrell Westenhoefer, Mark and Belinda Voisin, Grant and Shelley Voisin and Craig and Ha Voisin. Lovingly remembered by 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dear sister of Vera Bindernagel and Jack and Kathy Wolff. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Predeceased by brother Clarence and Netty Guenther, sister Ruby and John Rathman and brother-in-law Robert Bindernagel. 

In keeping with Gladys wished, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Aranka Kukk (née Obis)

Passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017 at Lisaard House in Cambridge, Ontario at the age of 66.
 
Aranka is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Kukk, her sons Peter Kovacs and William (Karolina) Kovacs and her stepson Matthew (Michelle) Boniface. She will be sadly missed by her grandsons Zachary and Simon Boniface and her nieces Adria (Anthony) Acs and their son Lacika and Katie (Daryl) Bates and their son Tristan. Predeceased by her parents Aranka and Lajos Obis.
 
As per Aranka’s wishes cremation has taken place and interment was held at Woodland Cemetery in Kitchener, Ontario on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.  You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Robert ‘Dean’ Rose passed away peacefully at home, on September 12th, 2017, holding hands with his loving wife Donna. Loving son of Barbara and the late Eugene Rose, beloved brother to Dale, Duane & Michelle, and the late David Rose, dear son-in law to Leo& Fran Arts, adored brother-in-law to Helen & Larry Smith, Leona & Scoop Williams, Deb Arts and Roxanne & John Riddell. Favourite Uncle to Becky, Brandon, Josh, Ben & Christopher Cotter, Melissa, Will, Owen & Charlotte Murphy, Luke and Christian Rose, Michael, Jossi, Ayden & Alyssa Smith, Melissa, Bob, William & Scarlett Hooey, Meaghan & Josh Black, Lee & Cayden Smith, Ashley & Jace Gordon and Abby & Ben Riddell, and special sis Darlene Phillips.

Hunka Dean, Sammy and Deano, as he was referred to by many, loved golfing, boating, family vacations, singing, drumming, and everything Jamaican. He was a born entertainer. Dean’s outgoing, charismatic personality attracted everyone to him. Dean was a successful Financial Planner who worked diligently on behalf of his many clients.

Special thanks to his caregivers, especially Dr. Stacy Hubay from GRRCC and Agnes from CCAC, whose care and kindness greatly impacted his journey.

Please join us on October 7th at 2pm in the Bingemans Ballroom- 425 Bingemans Centre Drive, Kitchener to celebrate the life of this wonderful man.  Celebration dedication will begin promptly at 2pm followed by a reception. 

We will be sharing our favorite memories and music that Dean so loved.  Dean lived his life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by so many.  Dean was most definitely one of a kind and had the ability to touch everyone he met leaving a lasting impression.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Terry Fox Foundation – Team Leo (Sarnia), which Dean has actively supported for many years.

János (John) Palovics

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of János (John) Palovics on September 12, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in his 84th year.
 
In Canada, János was a cherished member of the Weyers family and will be lovingly remembered by Shawn, Steffany, Destinee (Kevin), Brayden, Landen, Lyric and Luca and their families. He is sadly missed by his surviving sister-in-law, niece, nephew and their families in Hungary. He was more than a friend; he was a role model, a mentor and a loving "Adopted Grandfather".
 
He was predeceased by his Father István Palovics, his Mother Magdolna Weinacht and his brother István.
 
János was born in Bia (a little village near Budapest) Hungary in 1933. He obtained his trade in welding in Budapest then, in 1956, János left his country during the Hungarian Revolution to come live in Canada.
 
He had a love of dancing, photography, fishing, nature and socializing with many good friends who will also miss him dearly.
 
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Valley Golf and Country Club on Sunday October 15, 2017 from 12p.m. to 4 p.m.

Peacefully in his 84 year.

Predeceased by his parents Laurent and Sara, wife Norah and son Clifford, and by his siblings  Joseph, Stella, Patricia and Therese. Survived by siblings Gloria, Harold, Ronald, Oswald, Bernice, Elsie, Cecile, Larry, Elizabeth and Catherine. Sadly missed by his children Debbie, (Archie) Donnie, Dave (Roberta) Frank and Brian. Also missed by many loving Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Cremation and interment to follow at later date. Donations to the charity of your choice.

Passed away suddenly on Saturday September 9th, in his 58th year, with his loving family at his side.

Father to his pride and joy Alex, loving partner Birgit, Mother Annie, Father Alex (late), Brothers Des (Michelle), Glen (Corina), loving uncle to Damien and Adam (Cindy), in-laws Erna, Harold (late), Christina and Benny Schal. 

Cremation has taken place and a memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 16th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Parish, 44 Leonard Street, Kitchener with interment at a later date, a reception will follow in the parish hall.

A special thank you for the fabulous support from the doctors, nurses and support staff of Grand River Hospital 5th floor, ICU staff, Tri-City Cremations, and Reverend Brendan McGrath.

Gregory Joseph Leigh Manor

Passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lynda. Sadly missed by his children David and Christine, his grandson Brayden Desousa and his sisters Lynn Cronin and Debby-Ann Kiefl.

Gregory graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Biology and resided in Milton, Ontario for 40 years. He was an avid wood-worker and lover of gardening.

The cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory at 2500 Kossuth Road, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 4R7 on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
