June 12, 1949 - November 27, 2021

Ava Maria Caza passed away peacefully on Saturday November 27, 2021 in Kitchener after a brief illness.

Ava was born on June 12, 1949 in Halifax, NS. Throughout her life, Ava was many things including a laboratory technician, a loving mother, a loyal friend, and a dedicated partner. Perhaps one of her most cherished roles was that as mother to Arran and Gregory and grandmother to Max, Alex, and Vivienne, all of whom inherited her charm, wry wit, compassion for animals, stubbornness, and levelling glare. Ava loved long walks in nature, suspense novels, board games, and a great cup of tea. She was a stellar conversationalist and will be remembered for her energetic spirit, curiosity, kindness, and sense of humour.  Ava will be deeply missed by many.

She is survived by her partner since 2005 Brian Brocklebank, her sons and grandchildren, daughter-in-law Brianna Caza, sisters Linda (Eric) and Susan (Sylvain), in-laws Audrey, Claudia, Antoinette, and Jolene (Howard), and Garth (Amelia) and nineteen surviving nephews and nieces.

Ava was predeceased by her husband Bryan Caza, as well as her parents Kenneth and Oriola Golar, sisters Fern and Irma, nephew Bob, and in-laws Melvin (Marguerite), Tony, and Vance.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Innisfree House for keeping her comfortable in her final days.

Per her wishes, she has been cremated and there will be a celebration of life service held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Ava’s memory can be made to any cancer charity or local SPCA organization.

Ava was a great friend. It was such a fun time when we went for our girls night out with Judi. I will miss meeting her with Channel on her walks. Always with a smile on her face. Her laugh would warm your heart and make you laugh as well. RIP Ava. You will always be in my heart.

As members of Ava’s extended family, we have always enjoyed her warmth and good humour and appreciated her efforts to ensure our distant families knew each other. We remember many happy visits to her and the family the year we were in Toronto. We also remember fondly the visit Ava, Brian and the two dogs made to us and our dogs in PEI. It was a time of island exploration, good cheer and happy barking...

Our deepest condolences to Brian, Arran, and Greg and all their family members and may all their memories of Ava be even better than ours.

I will always remember her buoyant spirit. Her hearty laughs. When I was young there was a sign in her kitchen about smiling that always seemed very fitting for her. It was always an exciting event when our families would visit each other. She showed me great kindness and generosity. Thinking through memories of the hummingbird feeder in the backyard, playing cards against humanity, a thanksgiving she picked out a stellar mead for us to try, our trips to Ottawa and the East coast, summer picnics, discussing books and movies, questioning and at times even showing understanding of the cultural trends of my youth. What might be most telling is that I can't think of any negative memories. She was nothing but grounded, easy going positivity for me that will be immensely missed.

My wife Sheri ( Ava hairstylist) called ava in November and no answer she was worried continue to call the number until today (Dec 19th) she was hard on herself for not having any other contact for Ava Brian. Out of curiosity she checked the web and she could not belief that Ava has passed. Ava is going to be greatly missed by my wife who has been her hairstylist and a daughter for almost two decades and my kids who are always pamper with birthday gift and her love for my family.

This is irreparable loss and our condolences goes to Brian and the entire family.

Oh my God!! Why Ava? Ava had become my real family in Canada to myself and my 3 daughters 😥😭😭😭. I met Ava and Brian as my loyal hair clients and they become family instantly to me and my family, both known to my girls as Aunty Ava and Uncle Brian.
The last time I saw them both was in September for their usual haircuts / family visit to me and my girls 😭😭😭!
I have been so worried that all my text messages to her has not got any reply back from her, which was very worrisome and scary to me because this was unusual.
I told my girls and my husband that I haven't heard back from Aunty Ava and I'm so scared that something bad must had happened but I prayed and prayed that she will call me back to say something about losing her phone and then I just decided today to type her name into Google , only to find out my greatest family is gone.
Oh my God, Brian would be lost without Ava 😢😭😭😭😭.
This is not fair Lord, I was more concerned about Brian's health and never thought this would happened 😢 😭😭😭!
Please i need Brian to get back to me because nobody is answering Ava's phone. Please, I need a way to contact Brian, this is very important to me and my family because they're both very important persons to my family. This is a very sad day for me finding out this sad and heartbreaking news. Please help me with contact info for Brian. Tell Brian this is Sheri and the girls Maeiam, Fatima & Zeenat, need to hear his voice. We're family and we need to see Brian asap, please!!
