Barbara was an animated storyteller; she would come alive as she shared any new historical finding about our ancestry with us. The oldest of 5 devoted siblings: Sharon (James), Debbie (Dan), Kevin (Heather), Bradley (Connie) and Aunty Barbara to many nieces and nephews: Julie (Eric), Jeff (Kim), Phil, Todd (Jaycel) and Drew (Taimaz), Mackenzie, Parker, Haydn, Cody, Emma, Royce, Declan and Maverick.
Between gardening, cardmaking and designing quilts, Barbara fulfilled her love of teaching while working at the local Fabricland. She played an integral part of many sewing projects for countless customers that would come to the store to speak especially to her, and most loved when they would return with the finished project to show her.
Barbara was a faithful friend; it was easy to love her. She truly cared about others and would gladly go above and beyond, to offer a helping hand or an encouraging word. Barbara maintained her friendships, whether they be from childhood or those she had in the community that she called home for the last 13 years. With every new milestone, it would not take long, for her to be surrounded by people who would carry though each remaining chapter of her life.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Until then - plant something beautiful in your garden to remember Barbara and drink a toast. We are requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice. Messages and condolences may be left at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237.
