Bernardina (Dee) Doering, age 60, passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Saturday June 11th. Dee was born to the late Sabino and Gina Di Venere on January 25, 1962, in Newmarket, Ontario.

Dee married the love of her life, Bob Doering on September 29, 2018, after 20+ years of building a beautiful life together. Dee and Bob enjoyed many years together by the beach in Grand Bend, a place that always held a special place in Dee’s heart.

Dee was a loving, caring and energetic woman who will be remembered most for her sense of humor and her optimism in life. She spent most of her life thinking about and taking care of others. Dee found her love for Reiki later in life. She spent a lot of her time on the healing of others which brought her great comfort and joy. She always surrounded herself with many loving friends and family. Dee touched the lives of so many and will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Dee is survived by her husband, Bob; her sister Mariella; her daughters Samantha (Matt) and Elizabeth (Tayler); her sons Shaun (Patty) and Chris (Tina); her grandchildren Brayden, Ava, Atley, Sawyer, Liam and Emma. Her goddaughter Melissa and the rest of her beautifully blended family Nathalie, Edwin, Justin and Jaxson.

The family welcomes you to come celebrate the life of Dee on Saturday June 25, 2022 between 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Federation Hall at the University of Waterloo. See bullet points below for details.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the Grand River Cancer Center.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please  visit Dee's obituary notice on Facebook.

Dee, my beautiful humorous friend...
Even if we didn't see or talk to each other for a while when we did we just picked right up like we saw each yesterday. That is the precious friendship we had.
I regret we didn't have one last game of Air Hockey!
When i do make it up there i will let you win the first game, since you had to leave too young and too soon..but after that i am going to kick your butt and win like old times!!!
Fly high my friend until i see you again..
Love you always ❤

Remembering :Journey of Goodbye's
"All I wanna do, is have some fun, until the sun comes up on the Sana Monica Boulevard". PWP..and.dances with Dee seeing her long brown curls bounce with the beat, that is what I remember. And her hugs remember those hugs? They were the gift that kept on giving...you couldn't get away from one either because she'd sneak up behind you and bear hug you from behind touching whatever got in the way! When you ate with her you saw the 'it'alian come out on platters, of this meat and that cheese, those crackers, those dips, and some death by chocolate to end all of your days! And Hey where did she ever find so many hiding places for her chocolate staches ??? When you had your mouthful that is when she'd slide right in there and whisper some horribly wicked witty remark that would make you laugh spit! And then when you caught your breath she let another of those one liners Zip! Again making you laugh out loud almost to choking. It was what made her light up. and if you were quick enough to hitch a ride on the back of her one liners, you'd be her best friend for life! Because as you knew Dee Loved to Laugh.
Never forget the Goodbye's at her door. Well they would start downstairs and walk themselves to her door and then she'd squat a step to talk a while longer..it was a journey of goodbyes.
She always had plans for this week or the next week she was coordinating the troups for something they or she needed. And celebrations she was the Hostess with the Mostess! And did you say you needed hostas? well yep, she had plenty of them or she knew who did..and she would get you one...she would put it out to the universe to order, and wait til she got the answer!
I always will remember the energy I felt from Dee's Reiki Basement --standing at the top of it. It was "ALL Yellow" Glowing..All yellow.."So then I took my turn, Oh what a thing to have done. And it was all yellow.."
Going to Miss you Dee! Catch a Butterfly for me!
"...Look at the Stars ...Look How they Shine for You.. And all the things you do."xxo

Bob and family I am so sorry for your loss. Dee will be missed by so many. I enjoyed Dee's energy sessions and took some of her classes. I will miss Dee's smiles and hugs. It always felt great to go downstairs to the Reiki room. I know it was Dee that generated and shared that amazing energy when in her presence. I have never met anyone so caring and giving. Dee has touched my life in so many ways! I am thinking of you Dee and we shall meet again one day. Hugs!

Oh my dear friend and confidant Dee! You walked amongst us but even here, not showing your wings you were an Angel to so many people, friends and family alike. We met at Hope Springs where you shared your gifts of reiki and your other touching modalities. We smiled, hugged, laughed, cried, exchanged one liners and would laugh and hug again. You were a warm guiding light for my Mom and I as she went through her treatments and such. I will forever hold you in my thoughts, prayers and heart. You, my dear, have earned magnificent archangel wings!! To your loving family I offer prayers to you to find peace and blessings with your many treasured memories with such a loving, precious person!
Dee, you are forever loved and cherished xoxo by the many lives you’ve enriched with your presence. Rest In Peace dear
