It is with heavy heart that I announce the death of my beloved husband, best friend and soul mate Charles. He was taken from us too early and will be sorely missed. He died suddenly at London University Hospital on January 15, 2017.

Beloved husband of Ingrid for 38 years. Father to Nicholas and Derek. Grandfather to Dexter.  Brother to Claude (Melissa). Predeceased by his parents Carl and Doris.

Charlie was the kind of person who loved meeting people and interacting with everyone. He had a smile and kind word for all. Everyone will remember his quick wit, his talent for telling a good joke and making people laugh. He loved going to the Legion in Elmira and especially their meat draws. He spent his winters in Naples, Florida where he belonged to a large group of active people whom he enjoyed golfing, playing cards and partying with. He was semi retired and still spent time driving dump trucks to help out at various businesses around the K-W area.

At Charles request there will be no service.

Memorial donations may made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the London Health Sciences Centre.

For the past 19 years I have been blessed to call Charlie and Ingrid my dear friends. Charlie was a very special person that loved life to the fullest and enjoyed making everyone laugh with his sense of humor and gift for joke telling. I will cherish all the precious memories as I remember all our good times together. As I have said so many times, Charlie is one in a million and was loved by all who knew him. Charlie's passing is a heartbreaking loss for the ones he left behind but Heaven is rejoicing with him now! Love you dear friend and will always have a place for you in my heart!

Ingrid, it is so hard believe that Charles has left us this early. He was always funny, and always had a smile on his face, now he can smile down on all of us from above, with his mom and dad.
Rest in peace Charles....

Ingrid, so saddened to hear of the loss of Chariie. We have so many great memories and yes indeed he always had a joke that put a smile on your face. He always had that caring personality that we will all miss. Pete always enjoyed having a drink with Charlie and shooting the breeze about cars and trucks. Had great memories in Honey Harbour with the Vogels and Meyers ... again he would have us all laughing wth his jokes. He has started a new life and will be looking down on us all and when we think of him we will always smile. God bless you and your family. Love Pete, Cathy & Tory

Dear Ingrid - Although I never had the fortunate opportunity to meet your Charlie, from the many beautiful memories expressed, I can feel the essence of your true soul mate. I lost my soul mate Harry in 2012. Your journey through loss is just beginning but know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I would love to reconnect if you so wish. Sending you love, light and peace.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family Ingrid regarding Charlie's passing.
Charlie and I go back about 45 years. Lots of cars, trucks, the Headers Car Club. Most memorable, and always will be, was our amazing 5-week road trip to the west coast. We cut a pretty wide swath at times. He will be missed for sure.
Rest in Peace, Charlie...
