It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Cheryl on Thursday, August 11, 2022. She passed away at her residence in Cambridge at the age of 68.

Survived by her mother, Yvonne Hauser, and her husband, Nick Stepaniuk. Cheryl leaves behind her daughter, Alicia (Matt) Bedard, and son, Aaron (Rachael) Stepaniuk. Predeceased by her father, Lloyd Hauser, and her sister, Susan.

At Cheryl’s request, cremation has taken place and the family will host a private memorial.

I think I first met Greg when he initiated the Y2K end to end in 2000. Somehow he managed the 200 people who showed up and led about 70 of us to the successful conclusion where he arranged a piper to bring us off the trail! This was really my introduction to hiking and I was in awe of Greg's leadership and friendliness. It was a pleasure to join him later at Susquehannock and on the Bruce for some fun weekend hikes. He was truly one of those 'special' human beings. Life won't be the same for you without him Jeanette but he will always be there.
