With profound sadness we announce that Chris passed away at Grand River Hospital on Monday October 21, 2019 after a courageous cancer battle at the age of 54 years.

Beloved husband and soulmate to Connie (nee Schroeder) for 32 years.  Proud father of Brett (Nicole), Nathan (Jocelyn) and Eric (Kaitlyn).  Dear brother of John (Tracy), Paul (Brenda) and Jerry (Leslie); son-in-law of Jean Schroeder; brother-in-law of Cathy Mathers and Steve Schroeder (Brenda).  Predeceased by his parents Harry and Anne (nee Vernooy), father-in-law Harold Schroeder and brother -in-law Jerry Mathers.  He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

Chris graduated from University of Waterloo in 1989 and had a career as a Professional Engineer, working the past 17 years at Andronowski & Associates.  Chris’s passions were anything outdoors; fishing, biking, snowmobiling and was often seen puttering outside at his home in Conestogo with his faithful dog Zoey nearby. Chris will be remembered for his energy, thoughtfulness and devotion to his family.

Cremation has taken place.  A private family interment will take place in Exeter Public Cemetery, Exeter Ontario. A Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mark Preece Family House (Hamilton) or Grand River Regional Cancer Centre as expressions of sympathy would be appreciated. Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237.

Connie and family, I would like to pass along my sincere condolences for your loss. I worked with Chris for several years on renovations of the Manulife campus in Toronto. Working with and getting to know Chris was, for me, one of the highlights of the project. Chris was a great guy! He will be missed.

Our condolences go out to Connie and family. Chris was such a great guy! I worked with him at Wm Roberts and then Stantec. We worked on the Y2K project in 1999 and traveled Canada together. He will be missed in our industry and by all who knew him.

Connie and Family - Please accept our deepest condolences. The shock of Chris' passing brought back so many memories. From the time of first hiring Chris as a student at Roberts to the happy times working and socializing together, such as entertaining the kids at Halloween. Although we hadn't seen one another in the past few years, we will cherish those memories.
We shall be thinking of you all in the days ahead. Chris will be missed and fondly remembered.
Sincerely, Bill & Edi Stevens

It is with deep sadness in our hearts as we extend our Condolences to Connie, Brett, Nicole, Nathan, Jocelyn, Eric and Kaitlyn
We feel so blessed to have had Chris in our lives. As neighbours and friends, we have experienced many of life’s trials and joy’s together as we shared milestones, celebrations and family stories through the years. Chris was first and foremost an exemplary family man who showed through example the love he had for Connie and his boys.
Chris was meticulous, exceptionally hard working and driven. He lived his life with kindness, generosity and conviction. He always projected a positive attitude and outlook on life. Chris worked hard, and knew how to enjoy life in his fun-loving ways.
We will miss Chris’ stories, our casual visits on the porch, and his fun-loving friendship.

Rest in Peace Chris and know that you are loved,
Leo & Joanne
