It is with broken hearts and deepest sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and cousin Dale. He was our rock and our foundation, he surrounded us with his steadfast love and support, and made our lives infinitely brighter with his presence. He has left an unfathomably deep hole in our hearts, and we will miss him more than words can ever express.

A memorial celebration of Dale's life is planned for the Spring in Tobermory. Our thanks goes to Dr. Mithoowani, Dr. Moolman, the 6th floor nursing staff, and Trudy at Grand River Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruce Trail Conservancy.

Vivien, Alex, Megan, JJ, Dwayne and family.

Dale you were the best cousin one could ever ask for. You were part of our family and left lots of memories participating in our family events. Although I did not have the opportunity to say “see you” I will always appreciate what you and Vivien did to gift us with your mom’s gifts this past summer. I will always remember our last visit standing outside in the sunshine chatting at your truck. That’s how I will remember you. I love you and you are in my heart always. To Vivien and Dale’s immediate family, know he is no longer in pain and the memories you made together will help get you through these tough times. Luv to all Carolynn💕

To Vivian and family,

My deepest sympathies.

Dale was an amazing man who definitely touched many people lives in a very special way. Dale was a caring and loving man who cared for family first and foremost. It was always a wonderful surprise to see him at many of the Lynch’s family function.

No more suffering or pain.

He has now been reunited with his mother and together they are enjoying each other’s company once again catching up on old times.

Dale, you may have left from your bodily form but your legacy and love will stay with us for a lifetime.

We are incredibly saddened to hear about Dales passing. I was visiting someone else at the hospital and managed just a brief hello as the family were all there and I had no wish to intrude. Dale and I met while acting in a play in tobermory and our families became close. He was an amazing man and we are so proud to have been a part of his life. Our most sincere condolences to the entire family.

My deepest sympathies to all of Dale's people. I did not have the honour of spending face to face time with Dale but he has always been a deeply loving and fiercely loyal part of stories through JJ. Through JJ, I have learned about his capacity to show up and be present in ways few people manage. Much love and courage to his people.

We are, at this moment, shocked and saddened to have just now learned of Dale's passing. We saw the notice in The Lands End message. Meeting Dale some years ago through camping in his park was a pleasure, looking forward to speaking to him each time we made a reservation. We are returning the middle of June, and now... he will be missed even more. He became a friend. We offer our condolences to Vivien and all his family.

It is with heavy heart and sadness that the news of Dale's passing brings to me. For 20 years I have been visiting Lands End Park. It was my wife Donna our favorite place and one of the main reasons was Dale. I will never forget that Dale always took time to stop by our campsite to visit. I will always remember our many discussions. We laughed and yes one summer, we cried together. Rest in peace my friend.
My sincere condolences to Dale's family and friends.

It is with sadness that we express our love to all the Shephard family. We have been summer people at Land's End Park forever and have come to know Dale as a friend. Often he would stop by to say hello and visit. Really didn't think we would be having another service on the beach so soon. Hugs to everyone in the family.
