With sadness we announce the passing of Ewart Bancroft. He passed away peacefully at
Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, ON in his 91st year. He will be missed dearly by his loving wife
Susan Bancroft, his two daughters Stephanie Cook (Steve) and Melanie Bancroft and his
son Peter Brown(Cheryl). As well as his grandchildren Ben, Aidan, Emily, Chance and
Caitlin.
Ewart was involved with many organisations over his lifetime as well as working for
Mornington Township and the Town of Listowel. During those times he made many great
friends.
Ewart had such a positive attitude and outlook on life. He put together a memoir called A
Grateful Life. In it he said his working years were most fulfilling but his family life brought
him the most enjoyment. He hopes we can draw on his positive outlook to get us through
those tough days. The last line of his book reads “ I am grateful for a long and Grateful Life”.
A big thank you to all the staff at Freeport Hospital, Grand River Terrace Palliative Care Unit.
As well as the staff at St. Mary’s where he was previously.
Visitation and service will be held on Saturday February 11th at Forest Hill United Church
121 Westmount Road E, Kitchener. With visitation from 11 am -1pm. Memorial Service at 2
pm with refreshments to follow in the Fireside room.
