My son was so lucky to have Fiona for his grade one teacher. She worked relentlessly with him to teach him to read and was so dedicated to ensure he met the level, which he did!. She listened to her students and their parents, she cared so much about the well being of kids. She will be sorely missed.

My heart is broken over the loss of my beautiful friend Fiona. As I have begun to process this fact my mind turns to the wonderful memories of the time i got to spend with her as a colleague, but mostly as a very close friend. She always put so much energy into her teaching and did her best to be sure her students were able to succeed academically and socially. She really cared a great deal for all of them. As my friend her impact was huge. She always was one I could count on for great conversations. She was always interested in what was going on in my life and responded with warmth and enthusiasm. We laughed together a lot. She was always kind in her words and her actions. I will miss our drives to Dwight each September when we would solve the world's problems while at the same time anticipate the fun the weekend ahead would bring. I will miss talking to her about the birds she saw in her backyard, as well as the pesky squirrels and raccoons that she and Denis attempted to outwit. Listening to her speak about her family Denis, Jake, and Chris as well as her sisters Judith and Lyndsey you could tell she was happy and proud. She was super excited about Chris's engagement to Kellie. This wonderful friend touched all of our hearts and left happy memories that won't be forgotten. Love you Fiona.

Mrs. Groulx taught all three of my sons and we absolutely LOVED when she would bless us as a ventriloquist! I loved volunteering in her classes and watching her care for her little grade 1 students with high expectations for them. I'm sorry to hear of her passing and will pray that you will know that she has touched more lives than you will ever realize! May God give you comfort in your loss.

I am heartbroken to hear we have lost Mrs Groulx. My boys both loved her as their Grade 1 teacher. I as a parent loved her dedication, patience, thoughtfulness, and care she poured into each child in her classroom. Even when retiring her dedication to education continued by volunteering at the school. We were also blessed to have Mrs Groulx as a neighbour. Each Halloween one of our favourite stops was to visit Mrs Groulx dressed up as a‘witch’ to get candy, but more importantly to get caught up. She genuinely was interested in each one of her students - young and old - and believed in their success. Mrs Groulx, you were taken too soon. May memories comfort your family during this difficult time. You will be sadly missed.

She was my teacher in grade three and was such a good person. I always remember I didn't know how to ride a bike and there was a field trip coming up where we had to. I told her I didn't know how to ride one and she was SO nice and understanding and made sure I felt comfortable. I will always remember what a great teacher and person she was.

My family is fortunate to have known Fiona both as a teacher (Kaity and Rachel) and as a colleague (Taire). Her kindness, generosity and compassion made a big impact on each of us. We are grateful to have known her.

My sincere condolences to the Groulx and Matthew families. I was very saddened to hear of the death of Fiona. My cherished memories of Fiona are from childhood and the times our families spent on holidays together mostly at Sauble beach. Really wonderful times.

My sincere condolences to the loved ones of Fiona Groulx. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of learning with Mrs. Groulx in grade two and grade three; I still feel grateful to have enjoyed this opportunity. Many of my fondest memories as a student come from her classroom, where we all felt truly cared for and special. Mrs. Groulx had an endless sense of compassion for her students and her enthusiasm for learning came through in everything we explored together. When we had a chance to reconnect many years later, I was so touched to see that she’d held onto a book that our class had written together. This is just one example of the many ways that Mrs. Groulx kept her students in her generous heart; just as we will continue to keep her in ours.
