Passed away on Saturday December 8, 2018, at the age of 91, with his children by his side.

Born in Woolwich County, son of the late Jacob and Maria Baur. Beloved husband of the late Rita (Fedy). Loving father of 4 sons; Brian, Chris, Sandy and Ray, and daughter Donna. Cherished grandfather of Jacob and Noah, great grandfather of William. Survived by his sister Edna. Predeceased by sister Nelda, brothers Ralph, Elmer and Dante.

Harold worked for Bell Telephone from the age of 17 until his retirement, when he started Baur Installations, doing ongoing work for Bell and the City of Waterloo. He lived for golf still playing as a lifelong member of Rockway Golf Club, as well as League Bowling at Towne Bowl as a captain. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and the Bell Telephone Pioneers of America. Believing strongly in his faith and the power of prayer, Harold was a proud and devoted member of St. Anthony Daniel Roman Catholic Church. He was a lover of life and loved by all who knew him.

Harold will be dearly missed by many, but no one more than his best friend and daughter Donna. Donna would like to thank the staff of GRH, 5A and especially Pam.

Sincerest condolences to Harold's family. He was always busy and engaged in fixing things at the city, on weekends and at various times of the day; always happy to talk to people. His dedication and commitment will be missed.
Rest in peace.

Hank will always be in my thoughts, working together for near 20 years, he shared his knowledge, his laughter, his heart. If I could reflect on his impact to me, I would say "grand-fatherly"... great sense of humour that was always appreciated, strong belief in hard work and getting the job done.. the chair next to me may be empty, but his spirit still fills the room.. I will miss him dearly.

My desk was close to Harold's office at the City of Waterloo. And he kept red licorice for sale for 5 cents! He was such a lovely man and he will be missed.

We were lucky to work with Harold, he was always there to help when you needed him with a smile on his face and a warm hello if you ever passed by him in City Hall. We will miss that smile.

We all adored Uncle Hank. He was such a kind and sweet-natured man. We have so many fond memories of him spending time with our family...Mom would always have wee jobs for him to do when he came to see us in Napanee. He could do/fix anything! Uncle Hank continued to be an important part of my life after I moved away from home...coming as far as Ottawa to golf with my dad. These past few years we have always enjoyed his visits with us in Guelph. My children thought the world of him. We are truly going to miss his beautiful heart, but I am comforted knowing that he is at peace now. Much love to all of the family. xoxoxo

Hank was one of my favourite uncles. My brother, sister and I always loved when Hank came to visit. He was so gentle, so loving, so kind and he had a great sense of humour. As a child, I always felt safe with Hank - he had a beautiful warmth about him, and a way of making people feel special. In my adult years, I always had such admiration for your dad. He was so youthful (even in his nineties) so active, so involved and so kind...

A few years I went out east with Hank and my mom so they could visit their brother Elmer before he passed. Watching the three of them together and hearing them laugh and share childhood memories was such a blessing. Hank was always so grateful for everything he had and his appreciation for life was inspiring.

I will miss your dad dearly, but the thought of him with Ralph, Dante, Elmer, Fritz and mom makes me smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Seeing Harold out and about at city facilities always made me smile. If ever you wanted a lesson in ambition, staying active and hard work, he would be a shining example.
My sincere condolences to Harold's family.
