Passed away peacefully at her home at Granite Landing in Cambridge on Wednesday, August 4th, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late James Caldwell Boa (2002) for 55 years. Loving mother of the late James Andrew (2001), Thomas and Sally (Duncan). Delighted in being Nanny to Chris (Thea), Jillian (Mike), Colin (Katie), Jenny (Phil) and great-Nanny to Rowan.
Irene and Jim loved the company of young people and became unofficial parents and grandparents to both family and friends. Irene took great joy in entertaining and was a hostess extraordinaire. Her many volunteer activities centred on the wellbeing of children. Irene’s unfailing positive attitude about life encouraged all she met.
The family would like to thank the staff at Granite Landing and the LHIN for their care and compassion.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Friday, August 27th from 1 to 3 PM at the Galt Country Club, 750 Coronation Boulevard in Cambridge. It was Mom’s wish for golf course casual attire. We are respecting Covid-19 protocols, including masks and vaccinations. A private family service will be held at a separate time.
