It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Jim three days short of his 82nd birthday. Predeceased by his parents Nelles and Esther Lishman. Loving husband of Barbara (Garvey) for 55 years and a devoted father of Lisa and Jeff (Trish). Brother to Robert (Diane) Lishman.
Jim’s career in the construction industry was as a Sheet Metal worker and field supervisor for over 30 years. His workmanship can be found in many buildings around the Tri-cities and beyond. He was able to build or fix anything, he was a true handyman. Jim was a quiet and private man, a gifted sportsman excelling at any sport he took on. Jim also loved to travel, whether it was pulling the family trailer, ocean cruising, a road trip across the border or on a flight to anywhere. He especially loved it when everyone was all together, whether it was a family gathering, around the card table or holiday festivities.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the great care of Dr. Ma, Dr. Chernish, The staff at Home and Community Care Support Services and the excellent support from Kitchener Fire, EMS and St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Department. Donations can be made to the Lung Association or KW Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
There will be no funeral service, as he requested. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration will be held at a later date. If you wish to be contacted with the details email Lishman1105@gmail.com
