Jason William Parks, at the age of 44, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Jason was a man of humour, who was full of jokes and stories.  He was a generous, genuine and helpful man, with a big heart.

He was the beloved husband to Megan Parks (nee Russell) and loving father to Olivia and Ruby. Caring son of Marilyn and John Parks and son-in-law of Linda and Murray Russell, He will be remembered by his brother, Justin Parks, sister-in-law Lara Parks, and brother and sister-in-law Grant and Jenny Russell. Grandson to Marjorie Wilson.  Amazing uncle of Alana, Stewart, Grayson and Colton. Adored by countless aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Predeceased by his grandparents, Jason and Viola Haynes, John and Irma Parks, Alex Wilson and his uncles Barry Parks, Reg Harpley and Jim Mitchell.

Jay was the man who never stopped.  He kept busy by working on cars, scavenging value village for the diamond in the rough, taking meticulous care of his home and property, and having lots of wrestling matches with Olivia and Ruby.  He was a jack of all trades - he could fix anything you put in front of him!

Jason was an amazing father.  He always put his family first and was so proud of his daughters and how they are growing into amazing young people.  Olivia was always up for a drive in the old cars with dad (as long as they included ice cream) and Ruby enjoyed many trips to the pond to fish (as long as dad took the fish off the hook!).  He was a loving and supportive husband, who always lived life with his family in mind.

As a child, Jason grew up in Erin, with close relationships with his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He was a big part of the hockey community in Erin.  On the ice, you didn’t want to mess with him or his teammates.  He always had their backs.  After high school, Jay got into the automotive industry working as an auto body technician at GM Frost.  Eventually, he joined Upper Grand District School Board at Paisley Road Public School as a custodian.  He created many special relationships with his friends at work.

A private family ceremony will be held.  The family is hoping to hold a celebration of life at a future date. If desired, donations in Jay’s memory could be made to KW Humane Society or Waterloo Education Foundation Incorporation (through Waterloo District School Board).

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit Jason's obituary notice on Facebook.

Prayers for the family are released up to God. Tears still stubbornly come. This loss is so very hard to accept. I think Jason would be surprised at just how much he is already missed, how deeply he is loved and by so very many people. He touched a lot of lives and generated a lot of love in his forty-four years. And the love will not end. It lives on most clearly in his amazing wife and his two beautiful daughters. Phil and I send our love and condolences to them and to the Parks and Russell families. Keeping you all in prayer.

Jason was my first cousin. He was the sweetest guy and such a loving Dad and husband. Although as we got older we didn’t see each other very often we did run into Jadon Megan and Ruby at Value Village last summer. Growing up most Saturdays were spent at our grandma and grandad Haynes house and all the cousins would play outside while the grownups played cards. We made a lot of great memories.
Rest in paradise Jason. You will truly be missed.

Sending love to Megan, Olivia, Ruby and family. Jay's kind heart and love of all of you was clear everyday. He spoke so proudly of his daughters and Megan. He lit up when he shared about his family. I am so grateful for the times at school when he made me laugh so hard I cried. He cared and helped us all through good times and bad. I can't count the times he helped me out. Jay was a Paisley Rd. P.S. hero! He will be missed and never forgotten.

Jason Parks, Parksy, our dear old friend. Kerry and me are both devastated to hear the news. No other words can express it.

For anyone who doesn’t know the story. A group of ordinary people from ordinary towns in the UK 🇬🇧 and Canada 🇨🇦 have been close friends for decades and you were there right from the start.

An epic road trip to New York, a summer living in Canada, a springtime visit with a lady I would eventually marry, and your visit to stay with us in Lancaster. Just a snapshot of some of the fun. We will always quote your re-working of the Old Jedi Mind Trick with the words “Be Nice Now”, as that’s what your were. One of the kindest nicest people we’ve known.

We had plans to fly over back in summer 2020 and meet your family. Those plans had to change but with hope maybe we still will in the not too distant future. Until then we hope it brings at least some comfort to know your loss is shared by all your fiends far far away across the sea.

"He created many special relationships with his friends at work." Megan, I have not met you or your daughters but I am one of those friends Jason met at work. For years our Cub Scouts met at Paisley Rd school and Jason became our favorite custodian ever. These last few years I danced with Royal City Square dance club a couple times a week and would go talk to Jay on a break. We shared laughs and other special moments. I can't think of a friendlier person and everything in Megan's words rings true from what little I knew of this wonderful man. I feel so glad to have known him but so saddened by his passing. I can't imagine how much more you feel those emotions. I wish Megan, Olivia, Ruby and Jason's family and friends much love and healing.
