It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jenice L. Zahraj on July 12, 2021, at the age of 59, at Innisfree House, Kitchener, Ontario.

She is survived by her siblings Ingrid Pinos (Tony), Valerie Petis (Don) and Derek Zahraj.  Derek and Jenice had a special bond few siblings share.  She is fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Andrea Pinos (Darius), Kieran Fitzgerald (Tara), Hillary Elinesky (Kyle), and David Pinos.  Jenice is predeceased by her parents Oldrich and Lillian (Armitage) Zahraj.

She was a talented, self-employed graphic designer who had a flair for seasonal decorating and creating unique home furnishings.  Jenice will be warmly remembered for her acts of kindness towards others.

We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Grand River Hospital Cancer Centre and Innisfree House for their compassionate care for Jenice.

Sadly missed but never forgotten; memories last forever.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit Jenice's obituary notice on Facebook.

Matthew and I just heard the news of Jenice's passing. Matthew and Jenice met while working at the Walper Hotel and she quickly became a good friend. When we moved from the tri-cities, we always missed seeing her. We were just talking about getting back together with her, as we are moving back to Kitchener in August. We are in shock to hear of her passing. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time. Jenice had a heart of gold and was one of the nicest people. May she rest in peace.

I was so saddened to hear this news. Jenice was one of the first people I met after moving to K-W in 2001 who quickly became a friend. I would not be able to count the fond memories I have spending time with Jenice. Whether it be our outings to dinner, the symphony, or just talking for hours at our usual haunts, she was always a good laugh and a good ear (and I only hope she felt the same).

Rest peacefully, my friend!

I wish to extend my sincere sympathies to your family. I met Jenice almost 30 years ago through a mutual friend when she was working for Oktoberfest. We shared some fun adventures together, many conversations and much laughter.

She was smart, talented and very humble. She had a generous heart and would stand up for what she believed in and for others too.

For several decades, I have saved a unique Christmas card that she made/sent me one year. It makes me smile when I go through my personal papers and come across it from time to time.

She really was an extra special lady who I feel blessed to have known. May the memories that you have bring you comfort.
