It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John on June 13, 2022 in his home at the age of 75.

He will be lovingly missed by all of his family: daughter Phoebe Strickland and granddaughters Sydney and Rachel Raymond; mother Lucy Strickland and siblings George (Sue) Strickland, Linda Strickland-Harth (Peter), Mariah Strickland, Jim Strickland (Wendy Woodfield); life partner Rita Strickland and children Danny Spence (Natalie Martin), Sherry Spence, Brenda (Gerry) Dinelle, grandchildren Mike Gagné, Randy Gagné, Becky Spence,  Amber Dinelle, Gerry Dinelle, great grandson Sydney Gagné McKnight, also many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Ralph Strickland and two of his favourite four-legged companions Taffy and Ruff.

John was a kind thoughtful generous man, who had a great talent for fixing things and a wonderful memory. He enjoyed nature and animals. His gentle presence will be missed by many.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life on June 26th at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 147 Elgin St. N, Cambridge, with a family service at 2 pm and friends being welcomed between 230 pm and 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Humane Society, or World Vision.

Although I am not sure if I met him or not I do know quite a few people in the family. So sorry for your loss.

SO very sorry for your loss ALthough we haven't seen each other for a few years mainly due to distance and illness I have thought of you often and even though you are my Nephew, we are closer in age than most siblings which we thought we were when we were children. Please rest easy my love. Until we meet again.

I have fond memories of Uncle John. I will miss his calm, caring presence and his sense of humour. He was a great family member, a hard worker and a wonderful man who will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
