It is with tremendous sadness that the family of John Lewis announce his sudden passing on July 4, 2022 In his 57th year.

Johnny was an avid reader of books, a Trivial Pursuit master of “Rock” bands and their music. He loved a good joke and he himself had a repertoire of jokes ready to tell anyone at any given moment. He will be greatly missed for his kind and generous heart.

John leaves behind his parents, Larry and Barbara Lewis and his three older siblings; Leisa (Shawn), Lorie (Mike) and Jeffrey.

Proud uncle of Justin, Chris, Whitney, Madison, Ashleigh and Tyler. A Private  Celebration of John’s life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Traverse Independence (Acquired Brain Injury)   as expressions of sympathy.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit John's obituary notice on Facebook.

I am shocked and sad to hear of Johns passing. He taught me how to play backgammon and we would play for hours in the basement of his parents place in Chicopee. We never kept in touch after we left high school but I still remember him. My sympathy to his family and close friends.

Deepest sympathies to our friend Lorie and the Lewis family. We didn’t know Johnny, but he sounds like a special guy who liked to make people laugh. May he continue to make people smile through many good memories.

Shocked & saddened by this news. I have fond memories of Johnny visiting me when I worked at a record store where we shared our love for music & he’d always tell a joke or two. We also shared the same birthdate. My condolences to you Aunt Barbara, Uncle Larry & family. May you find solace & peace in your memories of Johnny ❤️

So sorry to learn of the unexpected loss of your brother, Lorie. We are thinking of you, your parents and your family at this difficult time. We have lovely memories of Johnny's friendliness and humor. I find comfort in this quote, perhaps you will too... “Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in times of sorrow.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

Hello hello. Johnny’s all too familiar warm, genuine greeting…in person or over the phone.
Again, my tears are flowing.
I love you Johnny. You honestly never spoke an unkind word to me.
I will truly miss your presence at all our family gatherings.
I will miss your big blue eyes.
I will miss all the “dots & dashes “ that could have been…that should have been.
I am just so sad that you are no longer with us. That you passed the way you did. You suffered so much… you should never suffer again.
I pray that God opens His heart for you and His arms welcome you.
More tears.
I just miss you Johnny…always will.
Please know the memories made with you will be held close, and steadfast in my heart.
So with this said…it is time for me to say with love, as always.
Goodbye goodbye.

A note of thanks on behalf of my family, Larry & Barb, Leisa, Jeff and myself, Lorie.
We would like to extend our truly genuine thanks for all your shared memories and your kind words of endearment.
Knowing your hearts share in our sadness helps to ease some of our pain.
We are SO pleased to know your donations will go to help both current, as well as, future victims of ABI. An acquired brain injury not only severely impacts the life of the sufferer, but their entire family as well!
We are very appreciative.
Again, our thanks.
Wishing you God’s blessings.
Hugs!
