Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 26, 2021 at the age of 74.

Lovingly remembered by his wife Betty Creaser, children Karrie McIlwain (Steve), Jaime Jarvis and John Michael. Proud grandfather of Jordan McIlwain, Connor McIlwain and Evan Jarvis. Also survived by sisters Shirley Kuprenas and Marjorie Windley (Frank), nieces Stephanie Warner (Tod), Cindy Kuprenas and Sherrie Green, nephew Mark Windley and his great nieces and nephews. We will miss him dearly but his suffering has now ended.

John is predeceased by his parents Elsie and Jack Creaser.

John lived his life by the beat of his own drum and died the same way, his choice and his terms. John will be remembered for his generosity; he loved to give. Christmas was his favorite time of the year, a tree full of gifts and plenty for friends and neighbours too. He loved cooking for large family gatherings and many other occasions over the years. He was a Proud Life Member of the Kinsmen Club of Preston for which he volunteered for over 30 years and a current member of Kinsmen K40. Past accomplishments include President of Kinsmen Club of Preston, Deputy Governor, Vice Governor and District 1 Governor.

Cremation has taken place at his request. Burial service will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto at a later date. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations directly to the Ontario Lung Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Canada and Dying with Dignity Canada would be appreciated.

Betty.
So sorry to learn of John's passing. He was a great gentleman and a great friend who I always enjoyed his friendship and our Kinsmen interactions over the years. He was a smart man but above all he was a good person, dedicated to and defender of many causes. His smile often belied his pain, but no matter, his cheerfulness won the day most of the time. He will be missed by many. My condolences to you and your families. My thoughts and prayers are with you these days.

To Betty & Family
I was fortunate enough to work with John many many years ago at Dominion Stores in Waterloo. What great memories I have of John during those years. He always looked on the bright side of things, always had a smile on his face, and was always looking for a good time.
My deepest condolence to you,Betty, and all your family during this difficult time.

We are so sorry to learn of John's passing. Always enjoyed our times in Kin with John. Especially the times spent at Kinvention and other social functions. KW and Preston clubs had such a rivalry. John was always the stalwart of Zone L. Remember stopping into the Beckers in Cambridge many times to ask his advice. He will be sadly missed.
