Dear Greg, please accept my sincerest condolences. Julia was very much loved. Her loss will be felt by many for a long time. She was the reason I joined WTC, she made me feel so welcome the 1st day I walked into the club. It was my privilege to be counted as her friend and colleague. April

This is a message from Edmund in Chengdu, China. I heard of Julia's last difficulties when I was in hospital myself in Chengdu with pneumonia. I had 16 days in emergency and then on IV in the ward to meditate on God’s way and on my way and how I fit in. The doctors said I could have died. But God allowed me to come out of hospital again on Dec 16. But it was time God's time for Julia had finished and she left this world on Dec 18. In God’s timing there is peace.

Psalm 118:6. Give Thanks to the LORD, for He is Good. …5 In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered and set me free. 6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? 7 The LORD is on my side; He is my helper. Therefore I will look in triumph on those who hate me.…

Hebrews 13:6. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

Julia, had a heart to take interest in each of the many individuals she briefly interacted with as they came and left the courts. She was a key human link with the court administration and the body of members. She played her role well. She deserves to be honoured for her maturity and encouragement to all. She was a bright light that won’t soon be forgotten.

Greg, I am so very sorry to hear about Julia. Andy told me bout Julia yesterday. Please know that she was dearly loved by our family and we will miss her terribly. We missed seeing her last summer and were disappointed as our entire family was here together. No one expected Julia would not be with us long. Julia had a wonderful sense of hunour that we all appreciated. Our hearts are with you at this sad time.

I am writing today to express to Greg and all family members my sincere feelings of loss without Julia. I would visit with Julia often when coming to the Tennis Club to play or sometimes just dropping in to say "hello." Julia for me often brightened the day and to say the least I will not know what to do without her smile and in particular the bowl of ju jubes that were always available to give me a boost or fill in for my missed lunch. Julia and I would often chat about life and the meaning of keeping one's attitude in check because we were all so blessed to have the many good fortunes of life. But alas, some of these have been taken away a little to soon for Julia and I like many other's am most sad about this because Julia brought much joy to so many. Greg, stay strong, be well, and know that the many good memories you had with Julia will sustain you and give you the strength you need to fulfill her legacy. It will not be the same without her smiling face at the Waterloo Tennis Club but be assured she touched many and gave us much!

Greg, I knew Julia from Northfield and then Waterloo Tennis Club. Julia was always cheerful, kind and welcoming. We had lots of chats at the front desk ( while I ate 3 jube jubes that she brought to the club ). I will miss her and hope that you find comfort in family and friends and knowing that Julia was loved by many.
