Laura raised her 5 children alongside her husband Leonard in the town of Elmira where they have resided for more than 20 years. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and was known to many, selling various products at different trade shows and expos. People in town may also have known her from working at Dollarama or as being the shipper and receiver at Canadian Tire.
When ALS took away the function of her legs she didn't despair, but used every bit of function she had to do all that she could with her hands. She created dozens of macrame crafts, making decorative pieces that her family and friends will cherish.
She is survived by her husband Leonard and by her 5 children, including her three daughters, Danielle (Michael) , Rylee and Alyssa, and by her sons, Roland (Cindy) and Damien and also by her mother Dorothy and brother Warren. There will be no funeral held but we thank all of those who joined Laura for her "Shebang" which was a wonderful celebration of her life.
We also thank the many people who helped so much during this difficult past year. We thank the people who donated money and equipment to help with day to day functions associated with ALS. As well as thanking the people who came to visit and encourage Laura and her family. We also thank those that helped rearrange the family home to make it accessible and we thank the many extremely dedicated PSWs who helped make every day more manageable.
