Peacefully at home on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the age of 93 with Shadow, her dog, at her side.

Missed by son Mark Vondrau of Preston, Cambridge, brothers Clarence (Ronita), Jim (Maggie) and Larry (Judy) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Howard Vondrau (1980), parents Ethel and George Hennessey and brother Fred.

Born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on December 23, 1925, Margaret moved to Ontario in the 1940’s for the war effort.

A generous soul, she helped strangers and family alike, always thinking of others before herself. She loved animals, especially dogs, who were always in her company.  She also loved her many flower beds, gardens and lilac trees in her large yard.

In the 1980’s she drove “down east” every year for a few months in her mini motor home. In the 1990’s and early 2000’s she took bus day trips across the border for shopping. She had sharp intellect and wit and was well-informed on most topics.

As per Margaret’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the KW or Cambridge Humane Societies would be appreciated by her family.

I miss you so much Aunt Marg or as I'd say as a kid "Annie Marg"... couldn't seem to say "Auntie" properly. I had cried so many tears since I heard the news. I sure wish I had been around throughout these recent years. I'm sorry. I love you. I hold the memories of you and the times we had deep in my heart and mind. I will never let go of them. I wish I could see you one last time. You are truly one of a kind. You have the most beautiful soul I have ever known. You have this spirit to you that cannot be described in words. You are selfless with an incredibly big heart. I could go on and on... I'll always miss you and I'll always remember you Aunt Marg. Love you forever and ever. -Tasha
(I also want to send my sincerest condolences to Mark. I miss you and appreciate how thoughtful and caring you have been throughout my life. I'm sorry that I have not been around. I love you and send my sympathy during this very difficult time.)

Happy birthday and Merry Christmas to you Aunt Marg. I love you so much and I miss you more than anything. If Mark reads this, I want him to know I am thinking about him a lot and hope that he is doing okay and has found a way to find peace and joy through what has to be a very difficult time. I love you Mark, Merry Christmas.

"Annie" Marg, I think about you all of the time and still cherish the owl you gave me.
I think about you when I see blue jays, robins, finch's, chickadees and cardinals. I think about you when I see frogs, goldfish, flowers and those little candies you always had by the door to welcome those who visited with love. I think about you when I see the beautiful miniature Christmas village you had, I still see it so clear in my mind and the old fashioned Christmas lights that always amazed me. I think about you when I have a cup of red rose tea. There is a car in my town that looks like yours did, even has that little antenna topper and whenever I see it, of course I think of you.
I know you loved this time of year so I wanted to send you a message here, you are missed dearly...you will never be forgotten... love always and forever and ever,
-Tasha
