Passed away on February 9, 2021, in her 35th year. Born in Kitchener on June 3, 1986 and was raised in Cambridge.
She is survived by her mother Janet Cooper and father Dan Kavenaugh, brothers and sisters; Brandon Cooper (Lisa), Erin Fyn, Noah Cooper (Morgan), Alex Chisholm, Kristopher Chisholm, as well as Dustin Fornier, who Melissa spent many years with. To all her aunts, uncles and cousins, who will truly miss her, she held all of you close to her heart. To her grandparents, who played a big role in her life, will forever be missed.
Melissa, you will forever be remembered as the most amazing auntie to many nieces and nephews, they will truly miss her presence.
She was the eldest of six children. All of her siblings looked up to her, and wanted to be just like her. The fact that you’re not here, will always cause us pain, but you will forever be in our hearts. Rest easy my beautiful sister, you had a beautiful heart and soul.
Your smile and laughter would always light up any room you walked into. You will be truly missed each and every day.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Drug Awareness Prevention.
