Born to the late John Leslie Ovens and Margaret Alleta Ovens (Elliott). Brother of Doreen June Beaty (Ed) and uncle of Keith Beaty, Linda Mancini, Nancy Kelusky (Ron) and Kathleen Smyth.
Norman’s high school years were spent in Willowdale where he made lifelong friends. As an adult he thrived in Little Italy, enjoying the downtown Toronto life, as well as global travel. In 2002 he moved to Bolton to support his mother and was often seen travelling around town in his Smart cars.
Norman had a love of music particularly jazz and attended many live performances. He had a large musical collection including Johnnie Ray and was a long-time member of a number of music organizations including the Canadian Collectors Congress.
Thank you to the staff at Stirling Heights Long Term Care in Cambridge for their care. Heartfelt thanks to Beverlee Fielding whose friendship and support was invaluable to Norman during his last years. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
