It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Thompson, peacefully and surrounded by his family on June 22, 2022. Predeceased by his parents, Charles Thompson and Irene Jarvie Thompson, and his wife, Patricia Slawich Thompson. Dear father of Kimberley Thompson and Nancy Allemang and her husband, Dennis. Proud and loving grandpa to Hilary and Zach Allemang and Cate Thompson.

Paul was 77 years of age and lived those years to the fullest. He always wore a smile and his personable nature gained him many friends along the way. Paul was a proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police for 30 years beginning in Mount Forest. He enjoyed riding with the Golden Helmets Motorcycle Team, working undercover alongside his beloved Doberman, Questor, as well as at the Cambridge detachment. His favourite of all though was working with the OPP Marine Unit in Tobermory during the summers.

Many thanks to the dedicated and caring staff at Hilltop Manor in Cambridge. In accordance with Paul’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A lifelong animal lover, Paul would appreciate donations to your local humane society in his memory.

Messages and condolences may be left at www.tricitycremations.com. Please visit Paul's obituary notice on Facebook.

Paul was a friend and teammate of my late husband John. They rode together for several years while performing for the O.P.P. Golden Helmets.I have many fun memories of their performances. John would be saddened by his passing as am I.

Paul and I were marine partners for years. I don’t think there was one day that passed that we weren’t laughing about something. Paul was a good man and he will be missed. Kim, Nancy and families, our heartfelt condolences.

I met Paul in March 1966 when we were both new students at the OPP Training Branch on Sherburne Street in Toronto. Our badge numbers reflect how close we were in seniority - I was 3047 while Paul was 3048. We met up again when we were both assigned to the Intelligence Branch in the 70s & 80s. My condolences to his family.

My condolences to those who morn Paul’s passing. He and I shared many experiences together as close friends during our teenage years and into our late twenties. Our paths then diverged and we lost touch but I often reminisce about our shared adventures. RIP Paul.

I was lucky enough to know Paul for over 20 years. He was kind and compassionate and his heart was full of love. If you were close to him, you were family. He was like a second father to me.
I will miss his smile, his laughter and that he had the best story to tell no matter what the topic. Thank you Paul for being you and for making my Mom as happy as you did.
