February 24, 1947 - May 24, 2023

The tears in our eyes we can wipe away, the ache in our hearts will always stay with the passing of Ralph Oliver Cook on May 24, 2023, with his family forming a circle of love by his side at Lisaard House.

So dearly loved by his wife Vicki (Needham) of 49 years. He will forever remain in the heart of his son Andrew (Cristina). Loving brother to Diane Gray (Gib), Alice Montgomery (John), Tom Cook (Trish), and brother-in-law Rodger Needham also his mother-in-law Jean Needham. Predeceased parents Irene and Fred Cook and father-in-law Vic Needham.  A special uncle to his nieces and nephews. So loved by his cousins and friends.

Ralph was passionate about formula one car racing, Dallas Cowboys, Blue Jays, golf (GDI), traveling and growing his hot pepper plants.

During Ralph’s 76 years there were many hard fought against-all-odds health issues, triple-bi-pass, dialysis and the gift of life a liver transplant in 2013 that gave us many additional years together, for which there are no words for. We thank all the medical personnel over the years that have cared for Ralph.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life at a later date and location to be determined. Donations to Lisaard House in Cambridge in Ralph’s memory would be appreciated by the family. Messages and condolences may be left at www.tricitycremations.com.

Thank you Ralph for introducing me to Yorkville, The Riverboat and Gorden Lightfoot. Thank you for the many walks after Christmas dinners in Leaside. Thank you for your love, for coming to every Christmas drop in with your beautiful smile. Peace be with you. May all of you, Vicki, Andrew, Cris, Diane/ Gib, Alice/John, Tom/Tricia and your families find peace together in the days ahead. May the memories of Ralph's smiles and his hugs hold you close together.

Forever in our hearts, our funny and loving neighbour, Mr C/Ralph #1. We were so very fortunate to have had you in our lives the last 23 years. May you watch your Formula 1, listen to your baseball, and watch your dear family from above, free of your suffering.
Love the Bordeleau family

Ralph was our dear friend. He was fun, funny, kind and caring. If we dropped by for an unannounced visit, even when he was feeling poorly, he would pull himself together, sit up in his chair and make us feel he was so glad to see us. He was always interested in what was happening in our lives. Often we would enjoy a piece of delicious peach pie or cinnamon roll that he had baked himself and we would wonder where he found the energy to do that – Vicki knew because she was the cleanup crew after Ralph’s creations in the kitchen. Ralph had a way of making you feel special and that you had brightened up his day. He was always uplifting to be around.
Such a loving spirit, he was a very special and courageous man and we are thankful for the time we had with him. We send our condolences and deepest sympathy to Vicki, Andrew, Cris and his family and friends. We will miss him always but he will always be close in our hearts. With love, Yvonne and Ray

Oh Ralph, our family will miss you dearly. Full of fun, wonderful stories, the camera that never left your hands. We wish we had known you forever, our times together far to short. You are in God's hands now, free from all the pain you dealt with and the many many miles on the road back and forth to the hospital. Our condolences to Vicki and your extended family. We will miss you so very much. Love Douglas and Claire Scott.

We have had the good fortune to have had Ralph in " Our Family of Friends" for over ten years. During that time, we have shared celebrations, birthdays, Christmases and so much fun together. Ralph has taken photographs each and every time that have captured our hearts and souls. We will smile with happiness whenever we view these pictures. What a "Legacy" you have given us Ralph - memories that will last a lifetime. Your loving friends forever, Sharon and Gary.

Our sincere condolences are sent to Vicki, Andrew and Cris at this time when they bid a final farewell to Ralph, a most loving husband and father and a caring friend. We will always remember Ralph's wonderful sense of humour, his words of concern for others, his desire to capture special moments in pictures and , of course, his passion for cooking and baking. We savoured many of his delicious desserts over the years. Our love is with Ralph and his family. And to quote Ralph we say,
"See you on the sunny side !"
Connie and Gary
