Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.  You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Robert ‘Dean’ Rose passed away peacefully at home, on September 12th, 2017, holding hands with his loving wife Donna. Loving son of Barbara and the late Eugene Rose, beloved brother to Dale, Duane & Michelle, and the late David Rose, dear son-in law to Leo& Fran Arts, adored brother-in-law to Helen & Larry Smith, Leona & Scoop Williams, Deb Arts and Roxanne & John Riddell. Favourite Uncle to Becky, Brandon, Josh, Ben & Christopher Cotter, Melissa, Will, Owen & Charlotte Murphy, Luke and Christian Rose, Michael, Jossi, Ayden & Alyssa Smith, Melissa, Bob, William & Scarlett Hooey, Meaghan & Josh Black, Lee & Cayden Smith, Ashley & Jace Gordon and Abby & Ben Riddell, and special sis Darlene Phillips.

Hunka Dean, Sammy and Deano, as he was referred to by many, loved golfing, boating, family vacations, singing, drumming, and everything Jamaican. He was a born entertainer. Dean’s outgoing, charismatic personality attracted everyone to him. Dean was a successful Financial Planner who worked diligently on behalf of his many clients.

Special thanks to his caregivers, especially Dr. Stacy Hubay from GRRCC and Agnes from CCAC, whose care and kindness greatly impacted his journey.

Please join us on October 7th at 2pm in the Bingemans Ballroom- 425 Bingemans Centre Drive, Kitchener to celebrate the life of this wonderful man.  Celebration dedication will begin promptly at 2pm followed by a reception.

We will be sharing our favorite memories and music that Dean so loved.  Dean lived his life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by so many.  Dean was most definitely one of a kind and had the ability to touch everyone he met leaving a lasting impression.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Terry Fox Foundation – Team Leo (Sarnia), which Dean has actively supported for many years.

To the entire Rose family, my deepest sympathies. I have known the family for over 50 years, playing sports with Dale and Dave, and through that, got to know Dean, Dwayne and there mom and dad. What a wonderful, close family. I have fond memories from the laugh's and good times over the years. Please take comfort in each other.

I was very saddened to hear of Dean's passing, and my condolences to Donna, Barb, Dale, Duane, and the extended Rose Family.

I have nothing but great memories of Dean over the long time that I knew him; whether it was the occasional Leaf game or golf game, or the work that we did together. I had one of the best golf rounds of my life playing with Dean, thanks to the advice he gave me on swinging with proper tempo - it had to do with chanting the name of a particular drink that he enjoyed, during my swing; we both had a number of those drinks during the round which probably helped. In the work that we did together, Dean was the "Doctor of Finance" and he kindly referred to me as the "Doctor of Tax".

Dean will be missed - he lived his life with enthusiasm and energy, and was a genuinely fun person to be with.

When we remember Dean let us embrace his joie de vivre, a French phrase often used in English to express a cheerful enjoyment of life; an exultation of spirit. He had the ability to inject enthusiasm to even the most ho hum day. He was fiercely loyal and generous to his family and friends and no one that passed his way could ever forget him. His love for Donna was epic, he always spoke of her in the most glowing terms and made everyone aware of their strong love story. We feel blessed to have known such a dynamic man with a passion for life like no other. May we all learn to add some of his infectious spirit to our own lives daily. With condolences to the family, Yogi and Mark
