It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Oberle. He was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo. He was predeceased by his father William Oberle (1995) and survived by mother Barbara Oberle. Loving father of Erin Oberle. Cherished brother of Pam (Jerry), Dean (Cheryl), Lori (John), Cheryl, Tim and Don (Heidi).

Bob in realizing he was facing a terminal diagnosis wanted to share his written thoughts in a short and personal obituary.

Prepared in advance and knowing I had limited time, I wanted to thank Dr Fortin, Dr. Valdes, Dr. Russek, Dr. Dai, Nurse Chantelle along with the staff and volunteers from the GRH Waterloo-Wellington Regional Cancer Centre for their efforts in helping me manage this disease but, unfortunately, we fell a little short - I wish I had more time!

Most importantly, I would like to acknowledge my love for, and thanks to, my greatest accomplishment, my daughter Erin for giving me the strength and conviction to fight hard; to my sisters Pam and Lori and brother Don for their unwavering love, strength, and support. They worked tirelessly as 'Team Roberto' to help me navigate the toughest and most challenging journey of my life. I want to remind everyone that life can be short so live without regret, take care of your health and appreciate all those who have made a meaningful impact in your life.

Goodbye to all my friends and to those who have shown me unconditional love and kindness - I Love You!
Bob

We encourage anyone who wishes to share their stories, thoughts, and memories of Bob for the benefit of his loved ones to please send an email to memoriesofboboberle@gmail.com.  In lieu of flowers or cards please consider a donation to the Grand River Hospital Cancer Center, the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society or Kitchener Stray Cat Rescue.

As per Bob's request no funeral or memorial service will be held. Cremation has taken place (Tri-City Cremation Services - Kitchener).

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit Bob's obituary notice on Facebook.

Big brother, protector, smile that lit up the room, a laugh that was contagious, gifted athlete, taught me how to be tough and strong, helped me become an amazing soccer player by practicing with me as often as possible, amazing, caring and dedicated father to his daughter Erin and dedicated Dad to his beautiful cat ziggy . Fierce to the end!

Cousin Bobby: As little kids we used to spend time on the weekends or special occasions visiting the Oberle family, which was always chaotic, noisy and so much fun! My sisters (Patti and Julie) and I used call them all one name “PamDeanLoriBobbyCherylTimmyDonald”, a name listing where they were born within the family. I remember Bobby most for his smiles and his laughter, he was always teasing, joking, and fun to be around. I love you Bob. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I worked alongside Bob at Sharp for the past few years. He was ever the smiling face whenever I interacted with him, always saying hello or good morning in passing. I never got to know him well, but I knew him enough to know that he was a kind man with a lovely disposition.

I think that I can speak for all of us at Sharp Bus Lines when I say that we appreciated his good nature & his warmness. Bob has left a noticeable void in our team & his presence, his kindness & his helpful nature will be missed by myself & his other colleagues very sincerely.

I would like to personally share a time when we were clearing our busses of snow one particularly miserable morning during my first year at Sharp. Bob somehow managed to get the better part of the snow from his windshield down the front of his shirt, saturating his face in ice. He turned to me and another driver & simply went: "Well, this is gonna be a day". That memory still brings out a chuckle for me.

Rest in Peace, Bob. You will be missed & remembered fondly.

I was Bob's route coordinator at Sharp Bus Lines, and his gentle nature, ready laugh, and outgoing nature.have been sorely missed not only by his fellow drivers and the staff at Sharp, but by the riders, families and staff at the schools he served as well.

Bob and I bonded over being single dads raising daughters, and I miss our talks. Erin was the centre of his world and the pride and care he took in her was evident in everything he said and did. My heart goes out to Erin, and I know that she will never doubt how much he loved her and how he will be with her always.

Rest in peace my friend.
