On November 4, 2022, with his family surrounding him, Ronald ‘Ron’ Edward Erdman left this world at Innisfree House Hospice in Kitchener, the city of his birth.

Ron was the beloved husband of Diane (nee Clarke), father of Jeffrey (Jennifer) and Gregory, and proud grandfather of Ethan.  He will be lovingly remembered by his younger brother, Clare (late Karen), and sister, Diane, as well as his niece Christine Kok (Jonathan), and his nephew David (Missy), along with great nephew and nieces Kalan, Calinda, Lily, and Ivy.

Ron is predeceased by his parents Gordon Richard [1992], Marie Lucinda (Dubrick) [2000], and sister-in-law Karen (nee Harding) [2019].

Amongst many dear family friends, Ron will be remembered by his Oldtimers baseball team, The No Stars, as their homerun hitting champion, and the Oldtimers hockey guys will remember him as a long-serving team captain and regular at the post-game celebrations.  Ron loved his sports outings and wanted nothing more than to “just get out”.  Whether it was a theatre play, a movie or just a drink at Moose Winooski’s, he was always after a better time.  But nothing pleased him more than taking his wife out on the dance floor for a spin.  With our sincerest, deepest love we commemorate Ron’s life here and wish his soul sweet peace and solace in whatever awaits him.  All our love…

A memorial reception will be held for family and friends at the Dedication Center at Williamsburg-Kitchener Cemeteries, located at 1541 Fischer Hallman Road, Kitchener, Ontario on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 1pm-4pm.  Ball Shirts, Hockey Jerseys, and shorts encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS society.   Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit Ron's obituary notice on Facebook.

Ron was my teammate and well liked and respected captain in both the Nostars Slo-Pitch League and KW Oldtimers Hockey League. Ron was an excellent athlete and excelled in each sport. Refreshments after the games may have been one of his favourite activities. He was a gentle soul and a true gentleman and will be missed by all that new him. Rest In Peace my friend.

Ron was a wonderful human being. I knew him from Old Timer Hockey for many years. Both off and on the ice he was admired. Having a few beer after the game with him was fun and enjoyable. I am saddened with his passing.

Diane, my deepest sympathy.
Our families have known each other for a long time Our lives have intersected often, from the boys in pre-school to our trips to Europe, Mexico, Florida. It is hard to put into words what your family means to us.
Ron was always ready for a good time, and we would share a lot of laughs. But he was also a kind and caring person which helped me in the last few years. He will be missed.
Love from Gary, (Flo), Steve and Mike

~~~ He is Not Gone ~~~
Ease you grief, he is not gone,
For in your heart he lingers on.
His smile, his laugh, his special way,
Will comfort you from day to day.
You'll feel his presence in the breeze,
That dances gently through the trees,
And it's his face that you will see,
When you're in need of company.
At any time, you can recall,
The love you shared, you saved it all.
And in time, more than anything,
You'll find peace in remembering.
I hope that you find peace knowing he is reunited with all his angels. He is blessed to be able to walk along side of them now and look over all of you in eternal peace.
Much love,
