1936 - 2019

Passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Thursday January 24, 2019 at the age of 82 years.

Ron was born on June 16, 1936 to Michael & Barbara Lehman (nee Obrigavitch). After a long career with the Federal Government, he spent his retirement travelling the world, perfecting his golf swing and sailing with his children. In his later years, he became an active member of the Wilmot Seniors Woodworking shop and enjoyed the camaraderie he shared with his fellow woodworkers.

Loving Father of Michael (Stephanie), Steve (Gabi), Rhonda (Kevin) and Tom. Proud Grandfather of Stefanie, Phillip and Tyson. Dear Great-grandfather of Jordan, Kaitlyn and Gracelynn.  Also survived by his sister Marlene Cowie (Bruce) and by many family, friends and colleagues.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to offer their sincerest thanks to the nursing staff of Grand River Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion they showed to Ron and his family. Donations may be made to Grand River Hospital Foundation as expressions of sympathy.

I'll always be thankful for Ron's long and successful career with the CRA, which brought him to KW in the early 80's - because that also brought me my best friend Rhonda. I was always treated like the fifth Lehman kid! I have so many great memories of the energetic home on Highview. I'm still convinced he installed that fabulous pool just for Rhonda and me : ) In more recent years he was always supportive when I needed a favour, and he was happy to help my friends that he didn't know, just because he knew me. I'm glad I was part of his 80th birthday celebration in 2016. I'll remember him very fondly.

I met Ron through Mary Dever. He was such a kind man. He graciously let me park my van in one of his visitor spots at his building whenever I attended an event at Centre in the Square. We also have some of Ron’s handiwork at our home, a maple leaf trivet he made at the woodworking centre and Ron also was able to help us with a custom wood project. He was passionate about his woodworking and even gave my daughter and me a tour of the workshop in Baden. A kind soul, he will missed. My condolences to the family.

Thank you Amber. It is so nice to hear that my dad was able to help you out and also share his love of woodworking with you. Rhonda

My heart is heavy after hearing of Ron's passing. He was a very nice and well respected man who formed a lot of friendships through his work for the government and with his neighbours at the condo. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family.

Thank you Nora. With my siblings and I being so far away, it is nice to know that my dad had so many friends in the condo. Rhonda
