It is with both great sadness and great warmth that we announce the death of Roy Rose. Roy was the husband and lifelong (mostly silent) partner of the late Margaret Rose (September 25, 2020) for over 68 years.

Beloved father of the late Robert (Sally). Grandad to Margarette and Robert (Christy) and great Grandad to Justin, Addison and Matthew.

Very special and beloved uncle, great uncle and great, great uncle to Kathy, Colleen, Shealyn and Rynn Harrington, and Christopher and Patrick Rose. Close friend and brother to Lionel and Colleen Rose. Brother of John (deceased) and sister Jeanette Guidinger.

Roy was born in England and immigrated to Canada over 62 years ago. Margaret and he travelled often for family, mostly back home, but also Europe, Australia, Greece and the US.

He retired from BFG in 1993 after decades of working long, hard hours to support his family.

A talented woodworker his whole life, Roy created beautiful furniture, clocks and doll houses that are cherished today. Prior to immigrating, Roy was a motorcycle enthusiast, and although not an active rider in Canada, he often spoke of his journeys and bikes.

He will be sorely missed by many in the community and the home where he resided.

Sincere gratitude to the staff at Highland Place for keeping him safe and for their kindness and understanding.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Due to the pandemic a private celebration of life will be held for both Roy and Margaret when we are able.

In loving memory of a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and good friend.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family  at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit Roy's obituary notice on Facebook.

So very sorry for the loss of this kind and very loved (brother-in-law) He truly was a talented carpenter, gave one of his hand crafted clocks to my youngest son and it has a place of honor in Christian's home. Please accept my deepest sympathy Len and Colleen, Cindy, Kathy, Christopher, Patrick and the great grands .. to Sally, Margarette,Robert, and Justin, Addison and Mathew. Will never be forgotten.

I didn't know Uncle Roy was into motorcycles, had I known, I would have driven my bikes up to see him where he could have spent some time talking motorbikes
