Passed away in Kitchener on Saturday September 4, 2021 at the age of 51 years.

Stephen is remembered dearly by friends and family, especially the Carvalho family, for all his help and support. The Carvalho family cherish the times when Stephen would share an Apricot Brandy with Joe. He could always be found doing odd jobs around the Carvalho family home and would never accept any money. His daughter, Danielle, remembers him cooking and baking up a storm in the kitchen with a joke and a laugh.

Stephen had a beautiful soul. Those that knew him always say he was just easy to be around. Stephen had a knack for making people feel comfortable and welcomed. He will always be known for his love of Spiderman.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Danielle Pilgrim (Scott Hemstreet) and by his siblings, Jason, Brenda and Cecilia Pilgrim and by his grandson Dominic Pilgrim.  He will be especially missed by his father Gerald (Carol Pilgrim).

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held at Edelweiss Tavern (600 Doon Village Road, Kitchener, ON) Sunday September 12, 2021 from 2:00-6:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to a charity of one’s choice as expressions of sympathy.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237.  Please visit Stephen's obituary notice on Facebook.

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Steve.
I met Steve in 2012 through Francis Dean, a very close and cherished friend. I remember the common interest in comic books, ( graphic novels ) and the appreciation of heavy metal music, electric guitar
solos and a talent for transforming an ordinary bike into a motorized bike. Steve, you were the ultimate cool guy. Long hair and expressive eyes. You resembled Colin Farell only you were more handsome.
We have so many great memories of you. We shared many good times and meals we all chipped in on. I remember your split pea soup and your candied carrots with brown sugar and cinnamon, and the birthday cakes you decorated and taught me how to use a piping bag to ice a cake. I remember you announcing the happy news on October 28th when you became a Grandpa. And I remember how you cherished Dominic and how you enjoyed every moment with Danielle and Dominic whenever they came over for visits.
It is hard to accept you are gone at the young age of 51. Rest in eternal peace. I imagine you busy meeting up with Randy Rhoads and Stan Lee and sharing a cold one with Shawn Yorke. May you rest in the sweetest peace Steve and look down on us once in a while. You will be missed.
