It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Victor James Folliott on April 21, 2023, due to complications  following a seizure, surrounded by love and family.

Vic will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends. He was the proud father of Kim (Matt), Shannon, Cheralin (Owen), and Brad (Vicki). He was a loving husband to his late wife, Catherine, and the absolute best Grandpa to Zachary, Freya and Grace. Vic will be missed by so many, including his family, his loving partner Glenda, wonderful friends, many of whom are from the radio community he dedicated his career to, the Rotary Club, and the various arts and culture programs he was involved with for many years.

Vic grew up in Richmond Hill with his parents and brother Larry. He loved reminiscing about the family’s Summit View Gardens restaurant. He played football and was a high school track and field star, and later a coach for his son’s baseball team.

Vic loved life.  He walked with a smile and warmth in his eyes felt by everyone he met. He loved to support his community and thoroughly enjoyed attending theatre, festivals and live music. Vic was genuine in all he did. Anyone who crossed paths with him enjoyed his unwavering kindness and support in their lives.

Celebration of Life details can be found here:

As one of Vic's radio friends (CHNR), I know he played an important role in many lives - encouraging, teaching, guiding, supporting, and always ready to help and have fun! So thankful to have met Vic. With sympathy and appreciation, Paul.

As you so wonderfully said; "Anyone who crossed paths with him enjoyed his unwavering kindness and support in their lives."

Vic gave me my first full-time job, and over the past 45 years I have considered him one of my best friends and mentors.

So glad we re-connected over coffee on several occasions over the past couple of years especially.

My sincere condolences to all of Vic's family and friends.

God bless you!

He definitely enjoyed those coffees with you!

He loved your talks about “saving all the planets secrets to life” as he said that to me.

Thank you for being a solid friend over the years!

Vic was one of the most decent people I ever worked with - humble, peaceful, gentle. Who will ever forget his constant and gentle smile? My condolences to his family.

I had the chance to work with Vic twice in my career, at CKGL- FM in its country heyday in the early nineties, and then in Brantford where he hired me to do mornings. Vic was a quiet leader who missed nothing and managed with his calm and in-control style. He was at his best as a team builder. We’ve all lost a friend and mentor. My condolences to Kim, Cheralin and Brad.

As many have said, I will miss his warmth and genuineness and humility. I worked with him at Roger’s and loved the memory of him going up to the podium at the nationwide Roger’s Sales Conference to receive his Rookie of the Year award. Man, did his Roger’s sales team cheer! I then got to work with him a bit at The Grand later on. He was a gentleman and gentle man! So sorry for your loss.
