Passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 8, 2022 at Freeport Palliative Care in her 87th year.

Waltraut was born in Tanga, Africa on July 5, 1935. The family moved back to Germany when she was 5 years old, where she lived until she was 22. In 1957 she, her husband (Harold), and son (Michael), immigrated to Canada.  They arrived in Montreal on a hot June day ready to embark on their new life. She was a stay- at- home mom for many years.  When she found herself widowed at a young age, she enrolled in business courses at KCI, and then worked as a Transportation Dispatcher for Raise Home Support (now Community Support Connections) until she retired.  She loved books, word puzzles, and of course Jeopardy. She was a kind, and gentle person and will be missed greatly.

Beloved wife of the late Harold E. Stumpf who passed away in 1984.  Loving mother to Michael Stumpf (Sandy), Thomas Stumpf (Lori), Kelly Stumpf (predeceased 1961), Arden Morphy (Keith), Tracy Roth (Rob).

Cherished grandmother of Sarah Stumpf, Tanya Harrower (Jamie), Brett Morphy (Hillary), Nicole Bender (Garrett).

Cherished great-grandmother to three.

Dear sister of Peter Struewing (predeceased 1991), Inga Wulfraat.

Will be missed by her sister-in-law Ursula Struewing.

Predeceased by her parents Helmut and Erika Struewing (Krahl).

Cremation will take place with a private family gathering to be held in the Spring of 2022.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Community Support Connections as expressions of sympathy.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.tricitycremations.com or 519.772.1237.  Please visit Waltraut's  obituary notice on Facebook.

I will miss our daily phone calls discussing every topic under the sun, as well as our previous trips to the islands, oh what fun we had!! Also I enjoyed all the books we shared over these many years, and all our get togethers for meals. It will be lonely without you! I know you will be watching over all of us and shaking your head over our antics at times ha ha!

I have many fond memories of Aunt Waltraut. Her kind and gentle soul will be certainly be missed, but these traits have been passed on to her children and grandchildren, so in this way her spirit lives on. Now Aunt Waltraut is together again with Uncle Harold and Oma in a better place. My heartfelt condolences to our extended family at this sad time. We were blessed to have had Waltraut in our lives and we will miss her so very much.

I was shocked by these bad news. My deepest condolence to the children and grand children. I still remember my 3 months stay at Waltraut and Haralds home in 1967. Waltraut and I had much fun. I particularly remember a trip tp Lake Huron, were we stayed about 1 hour and then had to flee due to millions of black flies. Anyway we had wonderful mutual adventurous events during these 3 months.
I'll miss her very much even far away in Germany.

We extend our condolences to Waltraut’s family, in particular Ursula Struewing. We spent many fun times with the family cooking up the best German Cabbage in K-W. We remember Waltraut as a very kind and gentle soul. RIP
