Passed away peacefully, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Monday March 27, 2017 in his 87th year. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Bill was the beloved husband of Shirley Ann McGill (nee Fuller) of Cambridge (Galt), the loving father of Mike and wife Leanne McGill of Kitchener, Laurie and husband Marc Mercier of Corunna, Christopher and wife Ellen McGill of Cambridge. He will be sadly missed by his 6 grandchildren Ryan and wife Julia McGill of Burlington, Lindsay McGill of Vancouver BC, Jaci and husband Jeff Clark of Mooretown, Ontario, Stephen Mercier and fiancée Nicole of Corunna, Jamie McGill and Julia McGill of Cambridge. Bill was blessed with four Great Grandchildren, River and Violet McGill, Kiera and Jacob Clark. He was the dear brother of Kay Barber and Ed McGill.
Bill was predeceased by parents Hugh and Caroline, sister Margret and husband Jack Richardson, brother-in-law Vern Barber, sister-in-law Beryl McGill.
Bill Retired from Zehrs in 1995 after 0ver 40 years as a master meat cutter and previous meat manager of Handcock Foods in Preston. He retired to his passion which was tinkering with cars at Nieson Auto Wreckers.
Memorial Service and luncheon will be held at Holiday Inn Cambridge on Friday March 31, from 12pm-2:30 pm at 10 Holiday Inn Drive, Cambridge, Ontario. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
