Picture
Passed away on Thursday September 6, 2018 at Grand River Hospital surrounded in love and grief by his wife and steadfast partner Jane, with his son Jesse and wife Erika and his adoring daughter Sarah. His passing has left a fathomless crater in our lives. He will be missed beyond words could say. Randy’s stoic and kind nature has been a source of admiration and gratitude for him just being there. Always humble and fair minded he commanded a sort of presence in a group without even talking. A perennial source of strength for all of us and we are each better people for knowing him.

He leaves behind his wife, his daughter, his son and wife and a baby grandson who looks startlingly like Randy.

Also grieving are his cousins Michael, Debbie and Sandra whose childhoods intertwined very closely with his.

God bless you Randy, sleep now with the Angels and we will meet again.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will happen at a later date.  Messages and condolences can be made through tricitycremations.com.

Jane, Jesse and family, Linda and I pass on our condolences for the loss of Randy. He fought with cancer for a very long time and showed more of his strength in how long he survived, an incredible fighter, quiet and determined to be part of this world and to stay on with his loved ones. He was a good man for the company and we missed him when he couldn't work any more. In the early days he was a reliable subcontractor then became a reliable employee, life is not fair to deal a blow to a man like this. I cannot imagine how much you miss him. I am sure now though he is happy in rest, problems gone and a good man like him will have a clear conscience. Somehow we hope you can find happiness in life, try to think of the positives and know that he would rather you be happy.

Ed and Linda Newton.

Dear Jane, Jesse and family, although we have not met you all, our condolences with your loss of Randy. We will forever have the fond memories of working with Randy on various projects over the years. Always the gentleman with a friendly smile willing to do everything for another. And Jesse - knowing you, you can follow where your father paved the way. Take care of the family.

Thank you all for your kind wishes and condolences. This man was one of the best and the memories we have of him will last our entire lives. I know that he is now at rest and his fight is over. A fight that he never faltered in so that he could stay here for us. We will now carry on for him.

Jane, Jesse, Erika & Sarah,

I Believe that we can continue to cherish Randy's passing through the birth of a new life, Randy's soul has passed on to the little guy, looks so much like him, over the next few years I’m sure he will get to know just how wonderful his grandpa was not just as a dad but as a loving and devoted husband, a strong and caring individual who was always willing to roll up his sleeves and lend a helping hand.

My fondest memory was of one summer, I had just lost my own grandpa, and randy had some of the most inspiring words for me. I later found out from Jane & Jessie that Randy rarely spoke to anyone outside of the family, from that moment on I was honored to have ever met the man.

He will be missed, find comfort in the simple things in life, and always remember to share the light from within yourself.

Forever in our thoughts,

Jason P Hunter
