Debra Williams
1956 - 2026
WILLIAMS, Debra (née Rude) - Deby passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by so much love on April 18, 2026 in her 71st year. Beloved wife of Bob Williams for 46 years. Deby will be forever lovingly remembered by her children Christopher Williams and Cheri Oldham (Ryan). Affectionately referred to as Granny by her two Grandchildren, Benjamin and Evalee Oldham, she will be forever missed. Loved sister of Susan Rude. Cherished niece of Annette Shantz. Loved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lifelong best friend of Deborah Lapping. Friend to so many.
Born on April 4th, 1956 in Toronto, Deby’s family moved to Doon and then to Wingham where she spent her formative years. During her teenage years Deby was a cheerleader and gymnast and in grade 10 she met the love of her life, Bob Williams, whom she would spend the rest of her life with. They had two children, Christopher and Cheri and settled down in Mount Forest in 1983 where Deby opened her much beloved business, Deb’s Ceramics out of the front porch of their home. She was a true artist and many of her pieces will be forever cherished by her family, friends and many others. Bob and Deby moved the business to a storefront on Main Street in 1993 and then bought a building on Main Street two years later. She retired in 2011 and spent her retirement enjoying spending time with her grandchildren, her dogs Dusty and Ti, and travelling with Bob. She and Bob had many adventures including driving out to B.C. to see the Rocky Mountains and Lake Louise and driving the entirety of Route 66 all the way to California. They also drove to Florida to camp at Disney World with their grandchildren. One of her hobbies was crocheting and she crocheted countless beautiful blankets to give comfort to cancer patients.
She was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her, and especially to her family. There are no words to describe how much she will be missed.
Cremation has occurred and a private interment will occur at a later date. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Donations in honour of the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
