It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Bruce Gray, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Doug was the devoted husband of Tina Gray, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He was the proud father of Kimberley and Shayne (Bridget), and a loving grandfather to his two granddaughters, Serena and Silvana.
Born to Margaret and Bruce Gray, Doug was a cherished brother to Cheryl O’Reilly (Pat) and a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He will also be fondly remembered by his great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Doug’s love of golf was a family tradition, with his father and grandfather having designed and built Erie Shores Golf and Country Club. One of his proudest memories came in 1960, when he had the honour of caddying for his uncle, Robert Trail Gray Jr., at the Canadian Open. An exceptional golfer himself, Doug accomplished something many golfers can only dream of — not one, not two, but three hole-in-ones! His talent and love for the game were a source of pride throughout his life.
Doug enjoyed a 50-year career in the insurance industry, where he was respected for his knowledge, valued for his advice, and loved for his sense of humour.
Doug also loved travelling with his wife, Tina, and their family, creating cherished memories together along the way.
His final round may be complete, but the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will last forever.
