Howard William Hillis

1937-2025

Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday April 10 2025 at the age of 87.   

Howard was born in Hepworth, Ontario Ont August 3, 1937. He grew up in Owen Sound, where he met his beloved wife and best friend, Sheila. They lived in Kitchener, ON, for over 20 years after retiring from a successful Truck Stop restaurant they owned and operated in Shakespeare,  ON.

Loving father of Brian ( June), Wayne, and Sherri (Mike)

Beloved grandfather of Adrian (Emma), Justin, Samantha, Brandon, Kirsten and Jake. He was the Great Grandfather to Ellie and Andersen.

Dear brother of LeRoy (Kathy) and Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Howard was predeceased by His loving wife Sheila (March 2024), His parents, the Reverend Victor Hillis and Gladys Hillis (nee. Kivell) and his brother Ken (Gloria).

At his request, there will be no services, and cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life with family will take place at a later date.

The Hillis family are extremely grateful to the many people who helped provide care and support for Howard in his final days. To the PSW’s, the homecare nurses, his exceptional neighbours and the First Responders, please accept our deepest gratitude for your incredible care and kindness.
