John Butler - Never Forgotten

In Loving Memory of John Stewart Butler

John Stewart Butler, age 27, of Cambridge, Ontario, unexpectedly passed away on October 31, 2025.

John was a brilliant, funny, and generous young man whose warmth and intelligence touched everyone around him. Though he often struggled to see these qualities in himself, those who knew him saw a light that shone brightly. He had a sharp mind and a deep curiosity, especially for subjects he deemed truly useful—math, science, technology, and history. He was proud to have earned a distinction in History in grade eight, a testament to his love of learning.

John had a passion for working with his hands and using his intellect to build and create. One of his proudest accomplishments was the custom S-10 truck he rebuilt with his father—a symbol of his craftsmanship and the bond they shared. He found joy in the process of making things better, stronger, and more beautiful. John worked at a few machine shops learning along the way. He struggled to find that 1 job that filled his passion. June 2025 started a new job at Innovative Steam Technologies as a Millwright apprentice. He was looking forward to his new job and learning.

John was deeply in love with his wife, Raejene, with whom he shared two wonderful years of marriage. Their time together was filled with laughter, support, and genuine happiness. They both enjoyed the outdoors and exploring. He would look forward to spending time with his cat Charlie. John had a heart for every cat. If one came up to him he had to just give some love.

He is survived by his beloved wife Raejene; his father Roy Butler (Karen) mother Shelley Wright (Wayne); Granny Cathy Butler; sisters Santana (Chris) Nicole Maraffino (Chris) favorite uncle to Ariana; bonus sister Nicki Wright (Darryl); aunts, uncles, cousins; mother in-law Tammy, father in-law Ryon, sister in-law Reanne, brother in-law and best friend Ryon; as well as other close friends. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him, and he will be remembered for his quiet strength, thoughtful nature, and the way he made others feel seen and valued.

A celebration of John's life is planned for the spring, giving an opportunity for family, friends and fellow automotive enthusiasts to honor him, pay tribute to an exceptional individual.
