Linda Brethour

1958-2025

Linda passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at the age of 66 years, after spending nearly 4 weeks at Grand River Hospital fighting multiple strokes, seizures, colon surgery, and many health complications.

Linda was a strong, loving, beautiful woman, whose life was not an easy one. She faced death more times than a person should ever have to, starting from just a teenager. She suffered many health concerns over her lifetime and always came out on the other side against all odds. Through life’s challenges and heartaches, she always wore a smile on her beautiful face. She was fun and flirty and full of zest. She gave good kisses, emotional support, a loving hand, and a forever dancing partner.  She was our biggest cheerleader, always routing for us and praising us on any accomplishment we had, big or small. She loved to be around family and friends and just enjoy the present. She sang us lullabies and rubbed our brows as children. She made us fall in love with Patsy Cline and jukebox oldies and taught us old dances.

She never forgot her French roots, always speaking it randomly to stay sharp. She loved crime shows, card games, and bingo. She loved music, dancing, and singing.

She was a little rough around the edges, but she really did have the sweetest soul. She loved hard and would give what she had to those in need, always wanting to be a good friend.

Linda was many things, but everyone that knew her would agree she was the strongest woman. We know she is finally at peace and dancing on those tanned legs of hers again.

Loving mother to Tina-Marie Deslauriers and Brookelyn Brethour. Cherished Grandmother to Jason, Tanner, Dylan, and Mackayla; as well as her great-grandchildren Silas and Delilah.

She will be remembered by her sisters Theresa Penny, Frances Durand, Peggy Boucher, Bonny Bronson, Betty Baier, and Annette Hoffman.

Reunited with her pre-deceased loved ones; husband Donald Brethour, Mother Rita Brosseau, and brother Philip Deslauriers.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date, where all are welcome to give their support and condolences.

Condolences may be left for the family in the comment box below.
